I hate to see money like that wasted. It could have been used to buy detailing supplies instead of hot air. They were saying $50 million. That`s a huge amount for a congressional seat.

In all fairness, he grew up in the district and lived like a mile outside of it. Considering how district lines get redrawn every few years, that`s pretty darn close imo.

I couldn`t care less about him not technically living in district. Most congressmen spend very little time in district once elected, so why are we hung up on this? 30 sounds awfully young to hold the office, though. And other than making Star Wars videos back in college, I`m not sure what he`s ever really done. Ok, so he`s a former staffer with a bit of charisma. Guys like that are literally a dime a dozen. I can`t comprehend how this was even a race. This guy had zero qualifications for the job. He only made it a race because special interest groups from the west coast poured money into this thing.

And I do live in the 6th district, btw.

More than anything, I`ll be glad to stop seeing commercials, getting mail from the Democratic Party of Georgia, the NRA, etc all trying to tell me which way to vote.

Amen. I live in the 3rd district and had to live with the nonsense. Finally, I don`t have to here anymore about the $15,000 "fancy" office chairs.

Now they need to remove all the signage!!! It looks horrible on that side of town.
 
Gerrymandering is a big factor but also the Dems need to use some common sense.

I lived in north Raleigh NC and it was very conservative area. The current GOP House rep is an old Jesse Helms croonie. Now, The Dems want to contest the seat so they have a candidate big with LGBT focus. This is not the platform to run on in that area. It is not a diverse group given how the district was drawn. Trump could be impeached and they should would vote for him.

I still wanna know how many offices were purchased for $15k. Have you priced office chairs lately? Good luck finding anything that isnt obvious junk for less than 300. If you need a few dozen chairs to outfit an entire office and a conference room, etc, $15k doesnt aound extreme to me. But of course, with political ads they never give the context for the "facts."

Maybe all politicians should use $20.00 folding chairs and $0.15 Bic pens. :rolleyes: Never Gonna Happen!
 
I have been sitting on a Staples 100$ office chair for 6 years still working just fine. Then again I am self employed every penny I waste actually comes out of my pocket.
