The Souveran look but in sealant form

With all the technological advancements in detailing tools, chemicals etc, nowadays, are there any sealants out there that give the deep, darkening wet-ink look like souveran? I was tempted to buy souveran but 6-7 weeks durability is just not worth it IMO.

I have megs26 and nattys. Nattys definitely deepens but has awful longevity as well.  Megs 26 does darken and lasts as long as about any other traditional wax (max 8 weeks) but I wish it was more reflective,.

If I was in heaven I would like an LSP with months of protection, the depth and wetness of Souveran and the reflective gloss of Aquawax ( the next day, AW just glistens like crazy).

In these times, is there anything close?

Opti-Seal topped with Optimum Car Wax (the spray) is pretty epic.

Souveran will protect for a few months but the deep shimmer only lasts a few weeks, then it looks like a more typical carnauba.

Hmmmm....I have a new Focus, that will see winter duty, as the Bimmer goes into storage.

And, I have Opti-Seal on hand.  It is easy to use, and it is what comes off the shelf when the kids come over with their cars.

With winter coming down the road, and few chances to properly wash the Focus, I am thinking about Opti-Seal.  I tried Collinite 845, and it didn't do anything.  I hit it with the Wet Diamond that I use on the BMW, and it looked much better.

So, Opti-Seal, with OCW spray when I can, might be a decent winter plan for the Focus.

BTW, I am almost out of WD.  Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Moe

Never have tried the paste, but the liquid looks great on the 2 vehicles I have used it on.

GreyStang, were they dark colored cars?

Hey Moe, Why do you feel 845 didn't do anything? What did you desire from it? How was durability and looks for you?   It's one of the most reputable waxes out there.

Honestly, I'm not a huge fan of 845 either. Shine is too bright (sort of like S100) on dark colors and 3-4 months is all I ever got out of it. I like 476S a lot more. Richer look and several months of protection.

PS's signature look never lasted past a rain for me. I find the Nattys Blue got close but Poorboys spray and gloss on top of just about anything gives me the exact same rich oily look and I can reapply quickly after a wash.

Bonus is it attracts dust just as well!

This combination is awesome! Scott turned me on to Optimum products and I haven't looked back.

Hey Scott. I'm actually getting ready to do a 2011 camaro ss with red jewel tintcoat on it. I am probably going to start on it Friday. I am looking for something that will be durable but also look great. I plan on compounding and polishing the car with hd cut and polish first. All I really have on hand is some OCW, DWG 2.0, P21s. I used up all my Blackfire sealant and looking for something else to try. I am doing this for a guy that I work with and mainly just to help him out. It won't be a 100% full correction as I'm only charging $150 to do the inside and outside. He paid me to order some optimum gloss coat for the wheels since he always has trouble keeping them clean. Since I'm not doing a 100% full correction I don't want to apply the gloss coat to the entire vehicle. Would you recommend the opti seal and ocw for this application or is there something else? I plan on trying to order it tonight so it will be here by Friday.

This is what the car looks like: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=171004&stc=1&d=1286661533

I went ahead and ordered some Opti Seal. Figured I would give it a try. Was going to order opti gloss coat and opti seal from autogeek but it was $19 to ship. I'm about 6 hours away. I got free shipping directly from optimum.

Its not a sealant but Clearkotes Carnauba Moose Wax has a Souveran type wet look and lasts alot longer...

I looked up Poorboy's Spray and Gloss but many ppl rated it avg at best. Usually the issue was with heavy streaking. Does it have any durability

What can be expected for durability? I remember clearkote products from back in 2005 when I first found autopia.  Throughout the years they seemed to have kinda faded into the background. Do they still have any great products to compete with all the new techn in auto detailing products?

It has no durability and it streaks if you use too much. Just like PS. But if its the look you are after, nothing comes close.

I still reach for Blackfire Wet Diamond when a traditional sealant is needed. Great looks, slickness, and good 4-6 month durability.

I'm done with BFWD. It just doesn't look all that its hyped up to be to me. I purchased it on a desire created around  1.5 yrs ago when everyone on autopia was buying it an draving about how it adds depth and a 3-dimensional look. Got the polycharged version then and put it on after last years polishing session; I expected to be wowed just like the many others but the next day I wasn't. It wasn't bad and slickness was good to the touch but the looks were not a head turner. I ddin't see the great depth everyone spoke of and gloss was good at best.

Depth is super important to me as I have a black car.  My fav to this day in terms of looks is still Megs MirrorGlaze #26 yellow paste wax. Its just that it doesnt last like a sealant. I wish I had the looks of 26 and the reflectivity of DGs AW but have yet to find it.

fast forward to last week, I just pollished my car out via the flex and Menz Powerfinish . All swirls gone!

decided to give BFWD one more chance to see if it could wow me, used a black finishing pad on the flex. application was a breeze, so was the removal via an edgless MF.

Next day, same experience as last year. Its just good at best, I want  Zinger!

Put on 26 yesterday and today I saw what I liked.

I'm ready to sell my leftover bottle. Just didn't work out for me.

Have you tried UW? It's not as good as #26 but similar looks and much more durable.
