FIRST & FOREMOST, All Autopians are humbly requested to purchase whatever detailing product/accessory they want or need directly from the Autopia store

@ http://www.autopia-carcare.com/

We gain so much knowledge and appreciation for detailing due to this website. Moreover the Autopia store even gives us DISCOUNTS on detailing products. The least we can do is help by buying our detailing products from the "Currently available" products at the Autopia store.

In regards to products not sold at the Autopia store,

I have noticed that...

Off & On, people are coming on the forum to ask what Detailing products are Locally available in a specific area.

So I was thinking,

How about a thread for everyone in any area/location, to post What detailing products i.e. (Polishes, Waxes, Sealants, mitts, tools,etc.) that they ABSOLUTELY know for sure are in any certain Store of a particular Location.

Just before you mention the product give a brief detail of the location and possibly it's price for further convienince.

for example.

USA Nationwide:---> AUTOZONE:

1)Meguiar's Gold Class Car Wash $8.99

2)Meguiar's 3 Step System $ "price"

3) Meguiar's NXT Tech wax $"Price"

5) etc. etc. etc.

Tis can apply to any store in any area, and in any country but be sure to be specific as to where the product is available.

Let me know if this is a Good/bad idea.

My own opinion is that I hink its a good idea and I strongly feel this will be a great convienince to all autopians especially newcomers.

For any Chicagoans looking for a S100 Wax locally available

Chicago Illinois:--->

1) S100 paste Wax $14.95 @

6868 N. Western Ave. Chicago Il. 60645

mystic: You can get S100 at any Harley or motorcycle store in the area. Case in point, I bought mine at the Harley store in Tinley Park.

I went into NAPA today and when I asked how much DACP would be the guy whipped out a binder full of Megs catalogs. They can order any Megs product and have it the same or the next day.

I got QEW and 303 at Camping World (NAPA also had 303)

and #16 and Plexus at West Marine

My local paint shop also had an extensive Megs line as well as 3M.

I was in a Boat/Marine store the other day. They sold Plexus. Was very surprised to see it available over the counter.

I went to the Harley dealer there and it was only $13.01 including tax! The guy gave me a discount for no reason. Great Deal! :D

Great Post ! Your post has given me an idea that might help all of us. Why not have a "billboard" similar to the "secret Decoder Ring" in which all nationally available OTC brand names are listed.

Most OTC products have deep penetration into all area's of the country.

The chances of a major brand name not being carried somewhere in each and every market region are slim to none... Those products not available nationwide will still be inquired about, but at least everyone will be able to at a glance know that a particular product is easily obtainable locally. Why not compile a list and publish it, updating it quarterly or so... Just an idea !:xyxthumbs

Long Haul makes some great OTC stuff. I know at one point they were affiliated with Race Glaze (and may still be?) who has a decent QD and one step sealant.

The Long Haul QD is the exact same product as the Race Glaze QD and the Polish/Wax is a tweaked version of RG's Polish/Sealant. P/W is definitely not only one of the better looking OTC (or otherwise) one steps I have tried but the most durable. The Degreaser/Bug Remover works well and so does the Truck Wash soap, although it isn't very concentrated so even a 28oz bottle is only good for 5-6 washes.

I've only seen their product line at Pep Boys but a couple other members have seen them in other auto parts stores too.
