The order of battle: a shopping list

I am looking to detail my alpine white BMW 325i Wagon and a titanium colored Ford Expedition. I don't even have a bottel of shampoo since my last PCS with the military. The Expedition may be getting traded for a Dodge ( Mercedes) Sprinter. The sprinter is basically one of the new Fed Ex trucks in a passenger version w/140" wheelbase. I would get it re-badged back to a Benz but still... talk about some big panels!

I plan to start small with the bimmer.

I wanted to list my current list and see if this is too much or too little in the way of supplies.

Trim & Glass

I am not sure if a white car would even be worth a Carnuba wax. If I was feeling up to it I was thinking something like

Vanilla Moose Wax Hand Glaze - 16 oz

PoorBoys EX-P sealent - 16oz

S100 Carnuba 6.2 oz

I would also be up for some more inexpensive options with close results for the acreage on the van. Any input would be appreciated!

Check out "Dirtguard" and use 1 Grit Guard and 1 Dirtguard in your buckets.

If you're just doing your own vehicles you don't need all those bottles (cost-cutting).

You can skip the sheepskin mitt since you're buying grout sponges. Maybe a mf mitt for wheels.

If your vehicles' paint is in good shape you can skip the SIP and get OP instead (cost-cutting).

Glaze - add DWG to your list.

Buy a larger P21S Total Auto Wash.

Add P21S Gel Wheel Cleaner to your list.

Add KAIO to your list.

The above is just my opinion, you will get many. You've chosen good, proven products. Believe me - by this time next year you'll have twice as many products as on you list.

Thanks for the suggestions!

My wagon has moderate swirls tip to tail from the previous owner and a pretty tough clear coat. The SIP looks to be a requirement.

DWG is Duragloss Wet Glaze right? I'm curious how the DWG compares to the Velvet Moose which I hear is good for lighter cars. A good OPT treatment still needs a glaze right? My take is that the optimum products seem to be more of a sealant than polish or filler. I was looking for the Velvet Moose to do this and add some depth on a white car. I'll have to look in on DWG.

\r\nDWG is \"Danase Wet Glaze\", as seen at DWG.'

No, DWG is Danase Wet Glaze. I use it because it's sealant-friendly unlike most glazes that are really meant to go under a nuba. I've heard many wonderful things about Vanilla Moose but I've never used it. You don't need a glaze on any vehicle. Do alot of "searching" before spending your hard-earned money. Optimum makes compounds, polishes, waxes, sealants, etc
