The most recent paint trend - Flat Black

I think only looks good on some cars or trucks. That Ferrari doesn't look good. I think sedans lend themselves to this look better.

I personally do not understand the appeal of flat anything on a vehicle. However, the Rolls does look sinister with that. In regards to your G37, I think that has one of the best profiles for sports coupes and switching to flat black would not do it justice. I love gloss black precisely because the paint has depth and the body lines blend in creating a whole cohesive look. However, best of luck on your decision.

Flat black looks good on beater work trucks. It looks like the car needed a paintjob so they went down to the local wally world and bought some rattle cans. In a word "ew".

But you have to on some level acknowledge that people who do this have a lot of money. It's basically throwing any future value of the car out the window while being on fire. It's apparently a very popular trend over in the middle east, they love to flat black any and everything.

I love it. It's not for everything, just real aggressive looking cars, such as the flat black GT-R  . It looks so mean and just stealth fighter jet like. I love it. However, I do also love glossy, wet finishes so it goes both ways.

definitely a sick look, but only fits on something that you want to stand out, but not look too flashy. Rob Dyrdek had a sick looking tahoe all flat blacked out on everything and it looked sick, but this was about a year or two ago before this trend started taking off. It definitely has it's place on ridiculous pimp cars, but not on something nice....

I think it only looks good on older cars. I think it looks "tacky" on new cars. On a old '32 Ford perfect. Rolls Royce NO!

I'm waiting to find a customer's car that I can wrap in matte black. The vinyl is very thick and good for 5-10 years easily.

Notice how 9 out of 10 times flat black only looks good in HDR photos.....

.... imho, in real life it looks like absolute ***.
