the most layers of wax?

2, after that I am usually toast. Plus I dont think more than 2 coats of *wax* does anything really.

I once had like 6 coats of 26 on my truck and it really looked no different than when I had 2.

OTOH, I *do* get greatly different performance with multiple layers of Collinite. When I did a side-by-side with multiple layers vs.a single layer (final coat of each applied at the same time) the area with more lasted a lot longer (kept beading, shedded dirt, stayed slick, etc.). I've tried this on wheels and body panels, always with the same result.

Also I've found none of the "like dissolves like"/solvent action with either 746S or 845, no evidence that subsequent applications compromise previously applied ones given a day or so's cure time between applications.

Any way I can think of to test it....Collinite gives every sign of layering for me. I'm sure there's a point of diminishing returns, but the difference between one and four coats is striking.

I use Klasse as my LSP and used to layer it 3 or more before. I've noticed no difference, it still looks the same as I layer it for the second time. What I really noticed is the slickness of the paint in my SUV after putting Klasse and of course it looks shiny.

IMO, different product have different results when you layer it for several times.

I like 2 layers, just because you make sure you are covering the entire vehicle. Other than that, I dont layer too often.

The reason I started this was that I read that Paul Dalton of Miracle Detail, does 5 layers of Royale... Do you guys think that this is overkill?:waxing:

Sealant - six (over a week)

Wax - four

I sometimes keep a really nice garage queen for a week and go nutz on it for the customer who wants the bling factor

I would imagine that it adds quite a bit to the durability, not so much to the appearance.
