What you should say is that if you are in the business of getting cars in and out the door and don't have luxury of time for the finesse finish that a dual action will give you, then you need a rotary. I have absolutely no desire to wash my car a few times and be greeted by the holograms that a rotary leaves behind. I've seen and heard guys swear that they could buff a car with a rotary and not leave a single hologram. However, after I hit it with a bucket of water and some Dawn dish washing liquid, those holograms show up in full effect.
If all the folks who use a rotary were actually as good as they thought they were, the rotary wouldn't get such a bad rap in my book. However, I've seen some "Amateur Night at the Apollo" type work out of most of the rotary users I've delt with.
David Fermani said:IMHO It would be great to have all/more of the people from Adam's be more active here. (like I said in #13 post) I think it would be a win-win for all.

David Fermani said:Many members might need to know who you are as a detailer before they lend credibility to your statements. What's your background in the detailing industry and how do you think it will help this forum? Are you planning on being active in other sections of this forum? What was stopping you from participating up until this point?
David Fermani said:*Edit*
You'll be of much more use to not only Adam's, but to this community & detailing in general if you skimmed through these forums in search of people looking (and needing) help. Don't just keep your blinders on for Adam's related interaction. That will show us what the true root of your existence here is.

Junkman2008 said:Ironically, I never posted this thread here as I really never ventured to this forum but after I found this thread, I decided to join and at least answer any questions that may be asked about my process. Thus here I am. I am way too active on way too many other forums to spend any significant time here so I really won't be much help in other areas but that is why Dylan is here. He can more than answer any questions about Adam's products and has plenty experience with them. Anyone wanting to see just what I can do can easily venture over to the Adam's forum where there are more than a few threads with more videos of my processes. You Tube has all of my videos, but they lack all the info you need unless you read the actual thread associated with them. Those threads are everywhere.
Thanks for the suggestion but again, I am spread pretty thin. I still have my own computer consulting business to run!
David Fermani said:Thank you for your reply but no thanks for your prior offer of helping people with questions if you’re not willing to participate elsewhere (or really at any significant capacity) on this forum. Autopia is the most well known, most visited and largest auto detail related source of information available anywhere. Here you’ll find some of the most experienced, well seasoned Pros one can imagine in regards to over the top, no holds barred, striving for the absolute very best possible perfect outcome type results. There are not only members with real world hands on ability, but people with chemical/industry backgrounds in detailing. What will make this forum better is like minded members (like you) sharing their views on car care. What turns me off is another sponsor that sits on the sidelines whose only intension is to peddle their products. That tells me that they have no interest in the community and don’t need to expand their image to the masses. It is my opinion that if a detailer, of any capacity, chooses to limit themselves to 1 line of products this will surely do nothing more than falsely taint their possible outcomes. That being said, manufactures/suppliers/resellers visit this (and other websites) in search of making their products better by listening to & observing the opinions of people here (again back to the win-win outcome I mentioned before). Moving forward, by participating actively, you’ll more than likely be able to expand your horizons not only by making people more aware of your product, but actually opening up your current stance on results based processes/products. I have no doubt that you and Adams are a wealth of information, but why not open the flood gates of your knowledge and share this with like minded individuals from around the world? If you choose to avoid sharing your information with places other than Autopia, you not only cheat yourself, but the industry as a whole. Again, I mean no disrespect, but if one chooses to not participate, I choose to not do business with them. Thank you again. :wavey

By sponsoring the board, companies like Adams get the right to pitch their products which non sponsors would get banned for since that would be spam. If the sponsor wants to limit their involvement to their own area and helping posters use their products, that is their choice, I really don't care. I agree that going to other parts of the board would probably "get their name out more" but that is their call and I am not offended if they choose not to.
On a side note, I have always found Ashley and the rest of their customer service top notch, keep it up.
Dylan@Adams said:... but sometimes I think preconceived notions and the blind product loyalty have a tendency to alienate certain products/vendor/customers from the community thus hampering contributions from all parties.
David Fermani said:Sorry, but that's a crock of bull. If you can't find a topic about detailing (as a whole/in general) without pitching, defending or speaking about a product then I seriously question not only your integrity, but your ability. Bob from Danase & Patrick from Excel are perfect examples of someone who does this regularly and is a great contributor here in my eyes.
David Fermani said:Dylan – by glancing over the nearly 400+ of your posts, it’s as if there were 2 totally different people posting here from the time you were initially joined here 6/07 to 2/08 and then from 1/09 to now (120 posts). Since you joined you’ve made a very small hand full of non-Adam’s mentioned posts. What’s stopping you from going back to your old ways? That way people won’t have ammunition against you based on your Adam’s bias. There’s many here that don’t feel or avoid the need to mention product and can still get their point across in a helpful way. Again, I challenge you(and Junkman) to bring your non-branded, un-biased background & experience to the table and lets see what becomes of it. Heck, post some Click N Brags like you use to or some videos. You have nothing to loose and way more to gain.
