The Hype Surrounding DWG

I've had a sample of DWG sitting around for ages (so old it was still called "Speed Glaze" when I got it), guess I oughta try it.

Sounds like Bob will be getting some of my money :o

Superbee, how is DWG compared to RMG?

Patrick

DWG is safe to use before a sealant. DWG also doesn't appear to have much in the way of defect hiding abilities like RMG does. I gotta test that statement a bit more, though. The car I used it on had no minor defects left in it to conceal. Only major RIDS that you wouldn't expect any glaze to cover up. It seems to be a very good alternative to RMG if you want to use a sealant after the glaze instead of a wax.

How much did you put on the pad, and how big was the section you did. I cannot figure out how much to apply for say half of you truck hood?

You'll get the hang of how much to use pretty quick. It's not a bad thing to use too much; it's easily removed. You'll know when you have the perfect amount cause it'll disappear into the paint almost completely. I waaaay overapplied it on this small four door sedan and used about two ounces. One ounce would have done nicely.

I've been saying it all this time. DWG rocks! Combine it with UPGP and you get one of the most incredible finish.

LoL, Doc, you've spent more of my money lately. :D You giving DWG the thumbs up is one of the reasons I bought it. I've been very happy lately going around buying up all the stuff you've been recommending. Having said that.... STOP IT! I'm out of money, dang it! ;)

DWG is on my list of "next to buy".

I'm going to be using #7 for the first time this weekend. How does #7 stack up against DWG??

No idea. I've stayed away from #7 due to the horror stories I've read about it.

Yikes, that's a lot of *any* product  If that didn't cause issues the DWG must be mighty user-friendly.

:o Yeah, I do have a tendency to get ham-fisted on product application. But this stuff is forgiving of my rather jerky wrist. Any excess product comes off easily.

Once again, the guys here on the board have steered me into another winning combination: DWG and 1000P look fantastic. I just went out and QD'd after letting the 1000P cure all night, and the FK! 425 made it look even better. I'm wondering if 1000P is like UPGP that way; it needs to be hit with a QD after it cures to really bring out the most of it's look. I'm going to go put another layer of 1000P on it right now.

well I had a bottle personally couriered back from the US to the UK last week ;) and its sitting in my desk drawer, but i cant get to the office until next week :hairpull:

I used EZ creme glaze as a base for UPGP on a panel last week and it looked great, so really hoping the formula of DWG adds even more wetness when layered over the top, and looking forward to finding out next week....

thanks for the review :D

Yeah I know, I think I used .5 ounces just on the hood of my GTI.

I bought into the hype surrounding DWG, and purchased a bottle.

I have posted previously that I applied some on one half of the roof, and couldn't see any difference. I applied it by hand. I was ready to sell the nearly full bottle, but decided I would try it again before doing so.

I tried it again yesterday, but this time I applied it with a PC and black pad.

IME, this is how DWG should be applied, because this really did seem to make a big difference. It does make the paint wetter looking!

Good to hear, Rob. Yeah, using the PC to apply works really well. It just melts right into the paint.

Exactly. There was very little residue left over.

This really gave me the impression of "jeweling the paint" (love that phrase).

...I'm following the DWG up with FK1 1000p. It's turning out to be a fantastic combination. It's Bence's fault that I'm using the 1000p. Thanks, Bence! :) ...

You're more than welcome Sir! :usa

I'm almost too late to the party! It seems that my decision was right when I thought I have to have a bottle of DWG... I'm waiting for the shipping quote from Bob.

Bee, as I asked Rob, I'd like to hear your thoughts too about the 2nd & 3rd layers of 1000P, because I think it's a fascinating thing to see this product cure.

As I said in the 1000p thread, the paint looked noticeably better (clearer and wetter) the next day. The 2nd coat further helped the appearance. I'd like to get a third coat on there soon, but I have been busy playing with my other vehicles.

The second layer made a big difference, Bence. Normally I don't care too much for sealants because they lack depth. The second layer didn't really add any more shine (I QD'd the car with 425 prior to the second layer, so the shine was pretty well maxed out), but it did add *alot* of depth. I'm very impressed with the look of 1000P. All the shine and reflection of a sealant, with almost the depth of a carnauba. I'm surprised that this product isn't alot more popular than it is.

Oh yess! Just check the improvement of the definition and clarity in the next 2-3 days. But I think with the DWG the 1000P must have an even more immediate bang.

It has been very windy here the last two days. One thing I have noticed is that the car that I have the DWG on is staying incredibly clean. Dust simply isn't sticking to it!

Yeap, that is because of the antistatic properties. DWG with FK425 work amazing together to reduce dust.
