The G|techniq Crystal Lacquer C1 goes on this weekend. Any advise???

I have been waiting to make this post. Crystal Lacquer C1 is awesome. It really looks just like your car has gotten a extra coat of clear. Well, basically it has. A sub micron cyrstalline film coating. The flake really stands out. The paint looks just like when I picked it up 5 years ago. I hope some others can try it out. The detailers in the UK get a nice price (as they should) for providing a coat of C1. I really beleive you will see a increase in sub micron cyrstalline coatings. Regards...

Has anyone taken paint readings before and after.

This is something that I'd like to see. Personally, I'm quite skeptical when it comes to these coatings (from Nanolex, G|Techniq, Aquartz, and Optimum). They all boast ultra extended durability (18+ months), but there's little in terms of actual evidence (publicly available) supporting their claims. Therefore, it would be nice to have some factual readings of before and after, and periodic updates in real world conditions. Just like every other enthusiast here, I'm always excited to hear about new products and technology, but as old saying goes, "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is." Hence, my skepticism. :nixweiss

Been about three weeks. All I can say is WOW. My RX8 looks great. It stays clean and repels dust and airborne dirt. This stuff is just amazing. Definitely a recommend.

Does it bead or sheet? Does it fill in micro marring or do you need to polish it to perfection b4? can you remove it if you see some swirls under it later?

thanks

Jeff

Water sheets. You should polish before applying. Then do a IPA wipe down, as this is a semi-permenent coating. Then only way it can be removed is with polishing. So get the car looking good with polish then IPA and apply. Let cure for 24 hours with no water. In about 3 days it will be fully cured. And it does fill in minor micro marring. Thanks for the question.

The car looks great! I have had the "Wheel Armour C5" which really was not that great. I have heard better things about the paintwork sealant though!

How does this help the durability of softer paints? Im assuming that it is just as durable on Audi paint as it is on Honda paint or does hardness depend on the substrate?

It is independent of the paint. So it should be be hard on all paints.
