i was just trying to point out an opportunity to get a better value...
Sorry to be so abrupt to you sir, but value is in the eyes of the user. If I use a double sided pad, and something go's wrong, I loose 2 pads!
If I am trying to teach some dudes to use a rotary, my cost is doubled relative to pads, because I have to have two of them (one for each rotary).
If I want to use "ONE product" for each pad (thanks David), I really can't with a 2 sided pad, unless I want to spend extra/double for a pad for each product.
The cost of manufacture of a 2 sided pad should be cheaper than a 1 sided pad because of manufacturing Techniques, but the 2 sided pads are "more" than double the price of a single sided pad!
This is a personnel thing and might fit some individual better with a 2 sided pad, you need to give it some thought before deciding which way to go.
I ordered some Edge pads (wool) which are of the single sided style (need backing plate). I think the quality (if plushness is a factor) of these pads is "Awesome", definitely better than a wool pad I purchased from AG (Polishing Pad #77-216).
To utilize the "Edge connection tool system" a new backing plate is being developed by Edge engineers. In my opinion this is the way to go, but I am sure others will find exceptions to what I think.
I just wish they would through there resources into this single pad backing plate issue with a little more "gusto", because now I have to order a rotary backing plate from AG which will become worthless if Edge designs a really great BP !!
All the above are my opinions, if you don't like them I am sorry, but this is how I see the issue.
