The Demise of CD-2

Al, You wrote that as though you've compared CD2 of Meg's HD in the past, is that so and if so, was it much better?

I have not in fact tried Hyper Dressing on my engine bay. My comment was based on just what I have read. Next to CD-2 (and perhaps even ahead of CD-2), HD seems to be the most popular engine bay dressing, and it certainly is more economical than CD-2.

Nothing to worry about guys! When I heard that CD2 was being discontinued I hit every AutoZone in my area and picked up 22 cans!! With my history as an indicator, I'm sure that not only will CD2 NOT be discontinued but they will increase production and offer 3 for the price of 1 sales very soon! No need to thank me! Just a public service for detailers everywhere.

I tried my two autozones and found zero cans! At least I can relax knowing it's not being discontinued now.

:drool5::D:drool5::D:drool5: You're the MAN!

No doubt CD2 is really good stuff. I've used substitutes, but the "real" CD2 is just excellent. I found an old can with half remaining and used it on my GTP yesterday. There is no substitute!:judge:

Just curious because I use Meg's HD for my engine and have been really happy with the results.

Thank YOU for the avatar change!

CD2 can still be bought at the "TurtleWaxStore" dot com. At $7.49 a can, it has become a little pricey. It hasn't been too long since I bought it for $2.99!

[Yeah, and I walked to school uphill both ways too! Yadda, Yadda, Yadda!!!!!!!]

Okay, I just got off the phone for the second time with the CD-2 Hot Line. The lady told me that the CD-2 Engine Detailer is not available. Here's the CD-2 phone number: (312) 649-2708. Perhaps others can call and see what answer they get.

EDIT: I just called the Turtle Wax support line, and according to their information, CD-2 Engine Detailer is still available: 1-800-Turtlewax. Go figure.

Yeah, I just ordered 6 cans from turtlewaxstore dot com... go figure. :biggrin:

I picked up the last two cans at the local Auto Zone. It will be interested to see if they get replenished. Either there's been a computer snafu, or perhaps the company has in fact ceased production of CD2 but is waiting until all supplies have been sold out before announcing the discontinuation.

At least it's still available at the Turtle Wax website. It's cheaper if you find find it locally.
