The crap keeps getting deeper and deeper?

What the heck does it take for someone so well known in the automotive racing world like Geoff Bodine to stoop so low to make claims and endorce a paint protection product such as this?

Key words to be weary of anytime someone trys selling you a detail product:

*High performance product and high performance people...

*Guaranteed results...

*Scientific benefits...

*Not just a protective coating like other leading brands...

*It cleans, feeds & protects your paint...

*50/50 tests of their products on beat up cars in salvage yards...

*If this product can do this to a 12 year old paint job, imagine what it can do to your new car...

*Captures and removes contaminants all in a 1 step application...

*Moisturizes and feeds the paint while still allowing it to breathe...

*3 times the UV protection as any other product on the market...

*Completely environmentally safe...

*Originally designed for boats...

*Cleaning your car is a breeze...

*You don't need to scrub with soap & water, just rinse and wipe it off...

*Not available over the counter or through any store...

*Only available at a dealership...

*Guaranteed as long as you own your car...

...but can it protect your hood if you light it on fire? That's the REAL test! ;)

Lol that is my favorite effect - it is not like the hood is on fire - the alcohol is evaporating so I bet that even a carnuba could protect.

Wonder if he uses the coating on the bottom of the olympic bobsleds to make them faster.....

Probably waiting his turn to be the spokesman for Extenze.

Even more amazing is that there must be people dumb enough to actually fall for this type of marketing, as it seems to be getting far more prevalent than it used to be. :(

It's not the first time - remember Darryl Waltrip's paint polish? And Junior had - what was it? Voodoo Ride or something, PAC sold it before they crashed and burned, never saw it anywhere else.

The movie "Ricky Bobbie" did it best when they did all the commercials at the end, my daughters still laugh at "Tampax, the official tampon of Nascar" LOL!

Seriously, do you buy based on celebrity endorsements? Although I did look at the Total Gym after Chuck Norris claimed he really did use it in an interview on the Howard Stern show, but decided after reading a bunch of reviews to skip it.

Anytime a celebrity or big name endorses a product, it becomes "suspect" to me.

But, that's the "magic" of marketing.

Truth be told, how many of us REALLY do buy some product or gadgits based advertising?

In today's economic market, dealerships sell ALL kinds of car-related products and services, including lifetime paint sealants and interior protectants. What REALLY upsets me is that "lifetime" means the life of the company or dealership selling the product or service, not the buyer or the vehicle. We had one small-town local dealership offered lifetime replacement tires when they bought a used car from the dealership. The dealership went out of business and left many used-car buyers without a way to recover their "lifetime" replacement tires. Did the "lifetime" wording influence them in buying the car and tires from the dealership?? Probably.

Personally, I'd like to see legislation passed that requires the word "lifetime" banished from advertising OR have the company set up a financial trust that would be able to cover the cost of replacement should the company go out of business.

Yeah, lifetime should be banned from advertising just like unlimited. Unlimited data usage, just don't use too much.

Indeed! Unlimited data plans go the way of the dodo bird in less than 24 months and if you want to upgrade your phone, gotta sign on to a new , limited plan, and pay more, or pay full price for a new, latest and greatest phone and hope you don't run into issues activating it  Oh, and don't get me started on how call connection quality in general mysteriously seems to plunge more and more. :wall
