The Corolla from HADES!

Carbon Blue

New member
Ive heard all the horror stories about this car how it was impossible to get a shine, reflection or gloss from it so I knew I had my hands full. The car arrives and from a distance it appears to look clean but when you approach the car within 10 feet low and behold the whole car was covered in severe oxidation. It was pretty much chalk board white. It was a 2004 model with about 65k on the odo. Closer inspection of the white paint revealed massive staining and yellowing from bird droppings, tree sap, bug guts and residue. Normal washing would not remove the heavy deep staining. The car received the full interior/exterior treatment and a 3 stage polish job. The inside on the other hand was ok but had all sorts of dog hair which was a PITA to remove, usual staining and trash was found etc. Its always nice to have a challenge!

After a 3 stage polish job and wax

Makes one wonder how a 4 y/o car w/ only 65k could be in such hideous condition. The way people treat (neglect) their cars will never cease to amaze me.

I absolutely HATE jobs like this--where it's WAY worse than it looks.

Amazing recovery. I hope the owner was equally impressed.

I'm planning on doing a similar resurrection on a cousin's car (on the house--to pay karma forward a bit).

Awesome turnaround! :bow

Single stage paint, I take it? I detailed a white Sequioa last fall that had single stage white paint. Made me want to hurt everyone at Toyota who was involved in that idiotic decision.

Great job. I recently did a 1994 white Dodge Caravan and also a 1995 white Toyota Avalon that are in the same condition. Come to think of it...I need to do my write up for the Avalon...

Those are some dramatic changes in the before/after pics! I can't believe how a 2004 can be in such condition. It looks like new now. What was your process?

fantastic job, great recovery....

??? why are toyota paints (white in the case) single stage? Should it not be clear coated in this day an age?

just curious....single stage is so 1990's ;)

Arrrgggghhh! Looked like a chalkboard - good ole Toyota single stage paint. Great turn- around though.

Though Headlights came out good too. When will they use glass instead of plastic for the headlights?

Wow...what an incredible turnaround! I've always questioned why Toyota did that...cost savings???...but I hate it. You did some amazing work and really transformed that vehicle. I'm sure the owner was amazed!

thanks guys! Yes the paint was definitely single stage and was in horrible condition. Whoever at toyota decided that it would be wise to use this type of paint on such a new vehicle should be fired!!! I couldnt believe it either when I first started polishing.
