The Cause of Klasse Hazing

Hello all:

There has been enough talk about this subject for us to try to determine the cause of it. If you have experienced this problem, the following information would be helpful:

--Conditions at application time (humid? hot?)

--Where you live

--Any difference from normal application methods?

--If the problem only occurred after washing, what did you use to wash and dry the car?

I think with the collective resources we have on this forum we should be able to determine the source of this problem.

Conditions

Generally mild fall weather -- low to medium humidity, temps in the 60-70 range

Car BMW 330Ci jet black

AIO, SG (two coats)

Up to that point, no hazing or streaking

Car was always washed between each of the following coats of Blitz

2-3 coats of Blitz over about a 6 week period

1st coat -- seemed fine, but noticed what I at first thought were missed spots

2nd coat two weeks later -- many more streaky/ hazy areas

3rd coat -- disaster. streaks everywhere that were completely resistant to any kind of rubbing with my all-cotton towels (I do not yet have MF towels) I felt liked I had spilled salad oil on the car.

Even worse, I tried some Mother's Showtime QD that I ha dlaying around from their clay kit and it resulted in a hopeless mess that refused to clean up no matter what.

Hope that helps.

Sorry for the typing, but just scurrying off a quick note to get this thread going.

Just to avoid any speculation on other causes:

I hand wash my all-cotton (fieldcrest) towels in Dawn, double rinse and air dry. I have never had any problems with streaking or swirl marks from these towels using other wax products prior to AIO/SG/Blitz so it is not a matter of the problem with some cheaper towels that are not truly all-cotton.

I wash the car with diferent car washes -- first time some Zaino car wash, the last time I used some leftover MecGuiar's Hi-Tech Wash (what a dumb name).

Wash mitt is also an all-cotton (not just "chenille) which can by a cotton/poly combo).

I dried it with an Absorber.

Only other thik i can think of to add is that the hazing the first or second time showed up after the car had been in the garage after several days, which led me to believe it was simply the hydroscopic effect of the wax.

Th-th-th-th-that's all folks.

2000 Silver Passat

Used PPCL to completly clean my finish, thentwo coats of AIO buffed off with distilled water and a brand new mt on a 60ish degree dry day.

5 coats of SG, added over 6 days, some of them rainy days (car in garage) many of them cold, went to the upper 30's on at least one night, taken off with 1 brand new mt for all 5 days. some days the SG haze was left on over night, some days just a few hours then buffed. Buffed the car before every applicaton with water too.

absolutly no haze, diamond finish, beading galore

tomorrow, i'm going to put soveran to see if this happens to me

I've used Klasse under warm and extremely hot conditions. Never a problem. I've also used it on cool days in the winter. Well cool for me is in the 60s. Again, no problems. Laters.

Well today after applying souveran, I used the same MT for the wax removal. The towel felt pretty waxy but I never got any streaking 52ish degrees, dry, sunny, and cold!
