I need some help on this one. This is my wife CR-V she had it before we got married. So im trying to keep it up. But this Honda is one pain in the hmm. It has fine weds and alittle oxidation. Now I have been trying to get some of the oxidation with the Meg's pads and some 3M. I dont know if Im the only one that use 3M products but it seems like there no good.

I try claying and it seem to work on the oxidation a little , I dont want to detail the whole car with compound. I did a little on the hood (compound) took all of it BUT it leave all the dust everywhere, and its HARD to take off grr! I dont know if its the 3M or the pad or just the paint that gets it so hard to wipe off. And I buff the car before and I hope the pictures can help, and some of it went into the door jams and now they wont come off. Its really Hard. Need help on that one!



Can you tell me steps on one to take off fine scratches and weds with a rotary?



And what to use for swirls marks?



Im here in Los Angeles, And the only thing I can get my hands on is Meg's and 3M

I want to try Meg's next because Im working on her car this weekend, any good Meg's?



And If you can tell me the BEST of products out there to buy. (compounds, swirls remover, Glaze. anyting that would buff fine weds out. For furture ordering. and not only Meg's)



There is one of the products of 3M in the pic, (white one on the left) I been using that one, cant see the name of it finess??someting letters came off, its been taking some of the scrates and fine weds. Can I use this and NXT x2 and then #26 after the buffing is done.



And is it true, That I really have to wait 24 hours for the NXT to cure before I put on another coat of NXT or #26 meg??

I don't know what that is on the far left, but I use and love the other two products (in the black bottles). It takes some learning to figure out how to use them correctly, but when you do, the results are amazing.



You are correct though, the dusting with the RC is enormous, but it's a great polish. If you use the Perfect It Rubbing Compound correctly, it will remove all of your paint defects, including small scratches and swirl marks. After you are completely done polishing the finish with RC, then polish it again with the Glaze. After that, all that's left is to top it with a wax.



You are almost limited to a wax because the Glaze has fillers in it, and if you use something like NXT, it will have a hard time bonding and will remove some of the fillers you just applied.



First step here is to learn how to use the two products with your rotary, which can be a little tough. I use them with a PC, personally.



EDIT: I just searched around and figured out what the white bottle is. It is called 3M Finesse-It II Finishing Material, product# 05928.

I may have given you incorrect information about the Machine Glaze before. I had it confuses with Swirl Mark Remover. :wall



You may want to contact "Accumulator" about this since he has extensive experience using 3M products. I, personally, have only used the Rubbing Compound and Machine Glaze. Do a search for him on the board and shoot him a private message.

can you see the pics, or are you getting red x's too? I see the pictures, that's why I'm confused.
