"The Absorber"...and more

Am I the only one person here who finds it difficult to beleive how many folks disaprove using the absorber, while they condone the use of a CWB?

I used the CWB/Absorber combo for a few years with no problems. I was always careful to swipe the blade clean with each pass. I also used the blotting method with the Absorber. Even though I had no problems with the CWB or the Absorber, I still switched to using waffle weave microfiber towels. I just like the way the WWMF towels perform.

I have several Absorbers that I used to dry cars until I discovered MF drying towels. Now I have five waffle weaves and three MF drying towels, and in my opinion, the MF towels are much more efficient.

i got 2 microfiber towels from scott in my poorboys pack. I am assuming they are not meant for drying because they do not collect the water, all they do is push it. Please give me some examples where the drying microfiber towels can be purchased at.

Well, I know you can get them from Dwayne. Also, Wal-Mart has a pretty good drying towel for $6.84 in the automotive section. Both are my go-to drying apparatuses. :)

The MF drying towel from Wal-Mart is decent. Large towel, light blue, plush on one side and short pile on the other, and has a large "MicroTex" tag.

Winner's Circle, Excel Detail, Autopia, etc., all sell some form of drying towel (mostly waffle weaves).

My local Wal*Mart had these marked wrong and when I mentioned it to them they sold me two of them for about $4.85 each before they changed the price to the $6.84. Had to try a couple at that price.
Great price, but...., I haven't been that impressed with them for drying. They didn't seem to do much better than a cotton terry towel of the same size. My waffle weaves from PAC seem to hold a lot more moisture. In fact a couple of 16" x 16" regular Pak Shak MF's seem to dry almost as much surface area. I have started using them for S&W and they do work good for that. They are big enough that when you fold them in to 1/4's you still have a large area that is also very thick. I kind of like that extra cushion effect.

I'll use them all. I generally sheet the water off as best I can with a nozzleless hose, run over the car with my CWB and then finish off blotting with a WW. Prior to owning a WW and CWB, I sheeted then used a chamois without issues. I think this whole drag dirt across your paint concern is one that shouldnt be IF you wash your car properly to begin with ( IMO ).
Properly washed car = dirt gone = no concerns.

Absolutely, but unfortunately that isn't always the way it is done. Sometimes a place is missed and it only takes that one time.
When one of my vehicle has been exceptionally dirty, (got caught in a crushed rock construction area in the rain), I have even washed it twice before drying to be sure I didn't miss something. My neighbors really thought that was crazy. :)
