That time of year again in Wisconsin!

Hi guys, it's that time of year again here in Wisconsin for massive amounts of road salt in the floor mat's and carpet! It's pretty easy to get the salt out of mat's but it is getting harder to get it out of the actual carpet. Some carpets appear to actually melt into a hard mass from this stuff!!! Any one have any suggestions as I still have not found anything that actually works on this stuff. I even tried scrubbing bubbles but no luck?? Thanks for any suggestions.:wall
