That little dealer nameplate on the back

Depending on how old the truck is the paint aroudn the emblem is probably faded comprared to under it. Otherwise to answer your question i wouldnt be able to tell you.
 
I'm assuming you mean those hard plastic dealer emblems? Before I was a real obsessed detailer I removed one off my car with a plastic spatula with no problems. Now I've learned the safer method is with using dental floos, a hairdryer and plenty of adhesive remover, like Goo Gone or 3m General Adhesive remover. Be sure to polish and wax/seal the area when done.
 
Take some dental floss, the waxed type, and "saw" off the emblem then you can use the goo gone stuff to remove any residue.

This is the safest method.

I just use a flat head screw driver and hammer. Go figure


















J/K LOL I can acutlay just use my prep solvent to relase the adheasive and just pull it off. Dental floss always sounds kinda iffy to me.
 
I ripped mine off when the car was new and got it the adhesive off with soap and water. It was a pain cause they put them everywhere.
 
Why spend money on that kind of stuff same as the Paint Tempeture measureing thing I dont see a real purpose in useing that. Decal removeing isnt all that hard

I'm not surprised to hear this from the same guy who insists that rotaries are safe for newbies. For some, checking the temperature is important, as the general rule of thumb is not to heat the paint above 115F. Doing so will cause the top part of the clear to expand and thus drive the swirls deeper into the film. For those of us enthusiasts, I understand how it's not needed. But don't discount it as worthless... like the decal remover, it has its uses.

Back on subject, I've had success heating up the decal with a hairdryer, cutting through the glue with dental floss, and cleaning up the residue with alcohol.
 
I didnt say it was worthless for the money you can get something else that is to more use in your supplys then it. Im sure most of the people on this board that are exellent with rotarys dont use one most of the time or at all.

Decal removeing is fairly easy without useing some kind of electrical tool to get them off if you want to use thats fine to.
 
Lol Sorry I was thinking of something else. I didnt mean it has no use but you can get something else that will be of more use in your detailing collection and its kind of annoying to check the paint every minute to see if its "gettin to Hot" .
