Glossy McGlosserton
New member
Just a thank you to this forum, esp. Scottwax, BumpersPlus and the others who responded to my request for help.
As suspected, the detailers recommended by the body shop did nothing very helpful. But they didn't mess the car up further, either.
This weekend, with a borrowed 9" Sears orbital, I set the car right. Dawn Washed, clayed, then 3M SMR with the orbital (making sure to 'flash off' to a good gloss). Followed up with new base coat of ZFX enabled Z5. Whew! I feel like I got her close to where she was prior to the whole sad episode. In just the right light, some scratches are still visible, but mostly the car looks fantastic. SMR is a great product.
I've learned so much on Autopia, especially from the professionals. Thank you!
