i got a call from a random body shop to do a quick buff on a lexus that they were painting the front clip on. the hood looked horrible just some very strange oxidation with no flaking clear at the edges so i figured it was single stage and there was hope. its a shame they had already prep it for paint could of saved $900 for the cust. hope thats ok to say. i dont know how the paint got like this . if you know id love to be enlightend. 3k rpm wool pad four heavy applications of some 3m compound

 
I think in a roundabout way the OP is thanking Barry for posting that Benz a while back. Maybe b/c of that post he was able to see that the paint was oxidized and could be saved and not ruined like the owner probably thought thus saving it from a repaint. Hmmmmm......

Thanks im glad my work inspires others. Cant wait to see the finished product. Ill shoot uou a pm later explaining oxidation
