Testing of new Pinnacle products

I promised a review tonight, so I'll try and cover everything even though I'm about to pass out. If there's anything you'd like to know, please ask.

The victim was my father's black 1940 Buick sport coupe which was heavily swirled and the paint was very hazy. It has 49,000 miles and a 25+ year old single stage re-paint.

I went over the bad spots with the Advanced Swirl Remover, followed up with the regular Swirl Remover, and did the rest of the car with the swirl remover, then topped with Liquid Souveran.

My first impressions were that the polishes were very easy to use. The Swirl Remover is a little easier to use than the Advanced Swirl Remover though. They have very very thick consistency, and you can do a whole panel with what you'd normally use to do half. The whole car was done with orange cutting pads with the PC on 5.5-6. They did not dry up at all, and there was no residue whatsoever.....it felt sorta like I was buffing off Vanilla Moose (not quite as easy, but similar qualities) to give you an idea.

The Advanced swirl remover did haze the paint and cause some micromarring of its own, which is why I followed up with the regular Swirl Remover. After that, the marring was gone. I couldn't get ALL of the scratches out because some were too deep, but my father didn't want me to go nuts over it.

Liquid Souveran smells VERY good, very easy on/off (a little goes a long way, no residue when buffing off, and barely any pressure is required to remove). This is definitely the #1 slickest carnauba wax I've ever used...the slickness reminded me of Four Star Ultimate Paint Protection. The look it gave? The paint looked like a deep pool of water. I'll try and get some good pics tomorrow or something because the car is still in the garage.

This is my first experience using Pinnacle products. From what I've read, the durability of Souveran may not be great as it is a beauty wax, but the ease of use and slickness more than make up for it. I wouldn't mind using it on a regular basis.

Also, I tried a spot with the Swirl Remover, then went over it with a 50/50 mixture of IPA/water, and SOME swirls came back, but nothing like what was there. The paint was loaded with swirls, and after doing the 50/50 IPA/water, there were just a few small ones that reappeared. None reappeared after the Advanced Swirl Remover.

Okay, now.....to the pics.

Remember, I'm sorta out of it now, so if I forgot anything let me know.

Also, to the folks at Autogeek, you're more than welcome to use any pics.

Now that is looking sweet. Very deep and wet. I've got to get some of that Liquid Souveran.

Great job...I'm sure your dad is happy.

Have you used 1Z ultra, 1Z and WPS. Thanks for lowdown, I like the results you got using your pc. I want to know if it worth the investment, since I'm using the 1Z line right now?

I've only used 1Z PP and Glanz wax. The advanced swirl remover is definitely stronger than PP. I would put the Swirl Remover in the same class as PP.

Well, it did marr the paint noticeably under the halogens, and did remove some pretty bad swirls. I don't have 1Z UPP to compare it though.

MattZ28- Thanks for the good review! I too am on the fence about trying this stuff since I already have the 1z line, but without your post I wouldn't even be considering it.

That sure turned out nice....I bet your dad is thrilled with it.

Barret Jackson is an auction house where they get big bucks for cars like that. But I'd bet your dad's never gonna sell it (I wouldn't either).

Thanks....believe it or not, my dad is actually looking to sell it. Between this, the boat, the '66 Mustang, and his real estate projects, he never has time. Next project is a drag car, but he refuses to start looking for something until one of the cars are gone :doh

The advanced swirl remover sounds like it behaves similarly to the 1z UPP in that the UPP leaves its own micromarring behind. I wonder which is easier in terms of use, etc.

MattZ28: That looks fantastic! Very nice work.

I signed up for the kit too, and your review was helpful. I plan to apply with a rotory and PC to compare/contrast, but it looks like the PC did a pretty nice job.
