Thought this would be a cool topic to show some of our ingenuity and "detail vision"
I found some items through out the years that non detailers would never think of using while "washing" their cars. Obviously detailers are a totally different bread than "car washers" and we find things in the real world to make our detailing even more detailed. Here are some of the things I've found and like to use:
Hospital gown: These things are awesome for keeping your clothes (and attached fasteners) from touching your precious finish. I first thought of this just last month when I had to put one on to get my wrist operated on. I made friends with the nurse and got a few extras. The guy thought I was nuts, he said I was the first person he'd ever met that actually liked a hospital gown:laugh::laugh:
They're soft, cheap (free if you know a nurse or Dr.) and definitely work well as detailing smocks.
Home Depot all purpose spray bottles. These things are awesome. For $.98 each they are a steal. 32 oz. heavy duty bottles with markings for ratio mixing and volume. They also have very nice and quality adjustable spray handles / nozzles. Hard to beat for the price.
Specialty Bottles.com! I just found this one. I know I noticed a few posts on here where people have mentioned it, but its a great place to get mixing bottles on the CHEAP! Check it out if you use 2, 4 or 8 oz. bottles to mix or dilute your product. They also have mist sprayers and flip top lids and some other cool packaging goods.
Harbor Freight non-marring plastic scrapers and interior panel removal tools. That place has a ton of great stuff on the cheap, but these are two of the tools that I've found help me the most during detailing and interior maintenance work. The panel tools are little weak, but for what I use them for (just detailing and cleaning for the most part) they work very well.
These are just a few of the things that I've found, what have you guys come up with? Lets see how resourceful you guys are.
