Tell me what you think of these steps

I assume I will be doing this every 6 months.



1) Wash the car with Meguire's Car Wash

2) Perfect Shine Detailing Clay w/ lube

3) Use Klasse-All-In-One (w/ or w/o PC7412).



Is that really all I have to do?



I am also wondering if Klasse-All-In-One leaves residues on various creases in the car. I have used Meguire's NXT wax before, and although that worked very well, it left ton of residue on creases all over the car, and it was seriously a pain in the butt to remove them. :mad:



I wanted to go with Shining Monkey products because it doesn't leave residue but then you have to use 2 to 3 products instead of 1 for klasse-all-in-one, and Shining Monkey uses Caruba wax, which only lasts 30-60 days...



I have a black car btw with lots of swirl marks, if that helps..



Any help will be apprecaited.

I never found the AIO to be a problem when it comes to residue. It wipes right off most any surface.



But it won't do anything for swirls (except perhaps make them more noticeable) and it doesn't really last all that long by itself. That "all in one" name is a bit of a stretch, IMO.



Good product though. But it sounds like you need to polish to remove the swirls and then use something that'll last longer than AIO/wax will.
 
Intresting..I thought that AIO included Polisher and wax?? And since it's synthetic wax, it will last longer than carnuba wax?



O man..what's the point of using AIO then? i'm all confused now..I thoguth i had this down, and I was so happy. :(
 
If you have swirls, you may want to remove them. AIO will not accomplish this. You'll need to polish first.



So, to remove swirls and come out with a very acceptable shine w/ durability, do the following:

1. Wash

2. Clay

3. Polish (pick one of the many available, everyone has their favorite per color of car)

4. AIO

5. SG X 2



Good to go for 6 months!

Do exactly as J.J. posted. The Klasse Twins will not leave that white,chalky residue that we all hate! Then try topping the SG with your favorite carnauba. ( perhaps Meguiar's #26 Paste wax or the amazing Souveran!!!!!! )
 
Agreed. Follow JJ's suggested method. You can use a different sealant after AIO if you want. AIO leaves a great smooth base for any sealant or carnauba wax.



AIO is mostly just used for cleaning the paint before sealant or wax is applied. It has no swirl removing capabilities that I've noticed, and the protection it leaves behind is nothing spectacular.

well, after looking at what JJ has proposed, is there any point in using AIO then??



Couldn't I just use a polisher, then use some synthetic wax (instead of AIO), then use caruba wax on top of it to finish it off?

If you wanted to, yes. AIO is a great cleaner and provides a good foundation for LSP's
 
On its own Klasse AIO is usually used as a paint cleaner (it is formulated with a very, very mild abrasive but is mostly a chemical cleaner) it is also used as a base surface preparation for wax or polymer sealants.



This is pure conjecture but it was recently reformulated and I think a lot of the acrylic protection it used to provide is no longer present (Iâ€â„¢ve been using this product since the early 60â€â„¢s and it has gone through a few iterations since then) FWIW Klasse products were always my sealant product of choice until I went over to the dark side (whispering in a very soft voice, it's now â€Â¦ Zaino)



Used in conjunction with Klasse SG it provides an ideal base for SG.
