Tech Wax 2.0?

It's a very good OTC product. I think it has really been discussed quite a bit, although you'll have to search the archived posts to read about it.

Easy to use
Easy to get (local)
Not too pricey
very slick
washes very clean
longer durability than version 1.0
 
One caution.
Unlike many Meguiar's Consumer products, NXT 2.0 is not a cleaner wax.
It should only be used as the LSP on a well prepped surface.
I haven't had the occasion to get it on any black trim, but whether or not it will stain the trim is open to debate. My personal feeling is that if you wipe it off right away, (before it dries), it probably won't be a problem. It does look good on well prepped paint. :bigups

Prep the car properly before the NXT 2.0!
Are you doing everything by hand or do you have a PC?
With a PC, Meguiar's #80 is a good prep.
By hand, Meg's Color-X would be a good choice.

You will probably be disappointed if you go straight from washing to the NXT 2.0 unless the finish is already in good condition. Whatever it looks like after the washing step is about how it's going to look after you wax it. Might be a little shinier.

Keep in mind that proper prep is a lot more important than product choice.

I just noticed this.
I hope you are experienced in the use of a rotary buffer. It is a great tool in the right hands and a real destroyer in the wrong hands.
It doesn't seem to be the right tool for applying NXT 2.0. The NXT 2.0 is a wipe on product, not a polish.
 
Yea, just opened to box. I usually use it when I apply paste waxes. Is it recommended to wax a vehicle by hand or by a machine? If so, what machine besides the buffer should I use?

When you say rotary are you talking about a rotary like they sell at Wal-Mart for applying wax or do you have a professional type rotary.

The 20 dollar polisher will work but I would prefer doing it by hand.
I defiantly would not put on NXT with a
Pro Rotary.

NXT looks awesome on Black if you do the proper prep first.

What every one is suggesting is that you polish the car after the washing so as to prep the surface...a paint cleaners would be a good choice...the wax job will come out a lot better
 
If you're doing a wash and wax, you could always apply something like ColorX with a PC and either a light polish or finish pad to remove very fine marring. It wouldn't take long, and it would probably help out with hiding and removing some of the finer stuff.

But sometimes, you just got time for a wash and wax - or that's all the customer wants. It's understandable.

Well that makes a big difference.

You won't harm the finish with that.
What Charles was talking about when he cautioned you about damage was a Pro- Rotary.

Most people just refer to what you have as a polisher but yes it is a rotary but lacks the speed and power to do harm.

Accually they are pretty much usless you need to buy a PC.
