Spent two solid days detailing a "friend's" BMW 740iL...took a few pic's, apologies for the poor quality - was in a hurry.

Had to use:

3M FI-2 with wool pad (unthinkable! Never had to do this before)
3M SMR with foam pad
Meguiar's SMR #9 v2 w/foam
Dawn Wash
Meguiar's Swirl Free Polish
P21S Paint Cleansing Lotion
Collinite MDE carnauba
(He's coming back next month for a synthetic treatment)

Interior was just as bad...coffe stains everywhere, used a whole bottle of Griot's interior cleaner and tried the Zaino Leather in a Bottle - Sal knows Leather! I liked the stuff!

Used Z16 on the tires & trim, EF Clear on the Glass, and a few other products I'm forgetting...
 
Very nice. My father used to have a 7 series and I know what a PIA they are to detail......those wheels are a nightmare. Don't forget to post some more photos when he brings it back, why not include some pics of your bloody fingers and skinned knuckles as well? :D
 
Great Job. :cool: :up I know what you mean about using the wool pad, my Explorer has a couple really bad swirls that a foam cutting pad won't touch........time to break out the wool. :eek:

Great Job :up "iL" is such a LONG sedan. Wow, used a whole bottle of Griot's interior cleaner? I assume the bottle is pretty much full when you started the cleaning. Got a BEFORE pic of interior? I'm ready to be amazed. :D :D
 
Wow, excellent job!!! Worth way more ooooh's and aaaah's than the "look at how my brand new paint shines" posts that frequent the board.

I wish I would have snapped a pic or two of the interior - it was so nasty, I have no idea how anyone was able to sit in it! There were some stains that were untouchable, but they were mostly on the floor mats.



He just called and asked if I'd be interested in doing his wife's Lexus SUV...I believe it's the larger one (not the RS300); not sure if I'll agree to it! Need some recovery time.
 
I figured I would post a thread about a little wheel refinishing project on a set of 92-95 SHO "slicer" wheels for my '05 SE. I took some quick photos after scuffing some areas on one of the wheels, and then spraying a light coat of Dupli-Color primer to help point out the imperfections. I will fill in the troubled areas with 3M's Glaze putty found at WalMart....

I plan on using the Wurth wheel paint kit available on PAC to repaint the wheels. I hope this will illustrate how relatively easy it may be to refinish a set of wheels, as long as you have the time and patience. I will post updates as they come along...

Some pix from last fall when I test fitted them on my car with the old tires and flat center caps. I have since sourced the appropriate lugs, center caps with SHO lettering....
