Tar on rims

I've been getting this stuff on my rims for the past 3 weeks that looks like little tar bits. The only way I've found to get them off is pick them off with my finger nail, then use a polish.

Even this isn't totally removing them.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to get them off totally and easier?

I'll post pictures if need be.

Thanks,

Ara

Try clay or a bug and tar remover and/or a chemical cleaner like AIO or a mild abrasive.

WD40 is an option or a 50/50 mix of Isopropyl Alcohol and water or a plastic razor blade with some lubricity but be careful. Lots to try before giving up hope.

Are your wheels painted or..???

If there's a Big Lots near you, hie your bad self over there and pick up some Long Haul degreaser. They're closing it out for about $4 a bottle. Maybe the best tar/general goop remover I've ever tried. I got rid of tar thats been on the car for years.

Yes, they are painted silver. They are BBS wheels made for BMW.

I'll try AIO first.
