Taking the Infiniti "Sticky Paint" Challenge

Thank you David and MidLifeCrisis for your input. I'm thinking I may go so far as using a CCS Blue/Black pad for this particular job and start on the lower panel of the rear bumper and see what happens. Any further input will be greatly appreciated.

Or you could just get out your trusty PC and use whatever you want. The Porsche I recently did had VERY sticky paint, even giving me grief on the lowest speed on my rotary. Switched to my PC with a green 3M compounding pad and Power Finish and had my way with the P-car. I ran the PC on speed 5 the whole time with no issues.

Mind you, most the "gel ball" issues have occurred with rotaries. I will be using a PC.
 
I'd work on a metal panel instead of the bumper. The bumpers more than likely aren't painted at the same plant as the bodies and probably use a different paint/system all together.



Yes, I think by you using a PC(and not having to do much correction) will be a benefit in this application.
