I dunno...people do well with all kinds of gear. IMO it's too easy to get caught up in what some people believe is the only answer.



If I were you I'd at least hold one to make sure it suits you. When you were checking them out in the store your found some just weren't to your liking and IMO that's important.



I will say that Canon has a rep for looking very "film like" and they have some nice lenses.

Ya your right Accumulator I still plan on going to hold this camera like I did with the others. I'm probably going to take a ride to the legendary B&H store in the city tommorow or Tuesday. I think the reason the guy is pushing me for Canon is just so everyone in the club can help me out with it. He also says people within the club are always letting each other borrow lenses and flashes, which is cool if I want to use a special lens or flash for a certain occassion. He also highly recommended me to pick up the 28-135mm f3.5 IS lens over the 28-105mm. He was telling me it has a better range, sharper image and Image Stabalization really helps out. I asked him if he had any experience with the two lenses and he has owned both of them, and actually ditched the 28-105mm for a second 28-135mm. His shots are unreal and if he feels satsified with it, I'm sure I will.



So if the camera fits in my hand, this will probably be the largest amount of money I've spent on a purchase other than my car. I will feel good knowing I have quality equipment and the value doesn't get to killed.
