Taking off tires to clean wheels

Is it worth tire gelling the treads ?

A) Its slippery, and

B) It wears off pretty quick.

Just wondered why you did it.

Smoker,

It's not hard to do. I had the wheels off and needed to clean both sides of the tire. While it was handy, I just scrubbed the whole tire. I used Mothers Tire & Rubber Cleaner. It worked great!

When it came to treating the tire, I sprayed the whole thing with Prestone No Touch High Shine Tire Care. It goes on as a foam, soaks in and dries as you see it. This was the first time I tried it and highly recommend it. I like it much better that the Stoner product.

I'm planning a couple of Coronado detailing events this summer. I still have to find tents and ask my neighbors. I hope to have room for 18-24 people per session.

Considering I have copious amounts of salt in my wheelwells and (possibly) on the back of my rims, would HI work in my case or would I have to graduate to a diluted Simple Green as Luster suggested?

I plan to do this over the weekend. :D
