I'm in the middle of doing this 7 series and the roof is practically shot. I don't want to even attempt it in fear of removing all of the clear coat off the top. Also, there are patches on the hood as well. The owner thought this was only oxidation and took some rubbing compound to it. Ehh I think its a lost cause and needs a respray.

Paint checking is not fixable by abrasive methods; it needs to be refinished.
