tail light lens wax build up

This stuff has been on for years. I used to just care that that my car looked good from 5 feet. Since I joined this board, now I want it to look great from 5 inches!

1. Are there any house hold produts that would remove the wax?

2. What detailing products would do the job?

Your current toothbrush is probably due to be replaced... That, and a good All Purpoe Cleaner will fix your dilemma.

Find a wax that doesn't leave residue, like P21S, S100, or the expensive Souveran.

Shine on

If you don't have it already, look around for 3M Wax and Adhesive Remover. I use that on a terry applicator and you can bear down on it pretty well.

I have the same problem as you do Mr. Viper. Oh yeah by the way you drive my dream car and it is SOOOO SWEET. I love the wheels. Heck I LOVE the whole car...

Newport Viper- Be careful using a toothbrush on the lenses. Sometimes you can scratch the plastic (but then you'd have a reason to go at them with the plastic polish ;) ).

*I* would use some APC-type product or PrepSol type solvent (watch it doesn't etch the plastic!) and scrub them with a plush MF. Use a sharpened toothpick to loosed tough deposits. Then, as others are saying, use something that doesn't leave such a residue. And make sure you get any excess out of the raised lettering before it's fully dry.
