tag on JT intern MF towels

I really like the quality of the towels I got from JT intern.

Good towels, low price.

But how do you get rid of the stuck on tags on the green 16x16 towels? I ripped a hole in the first towel whose tag I removed. Tried washing the others and then using tweezers, but still haven't managed to pull more than a piece of the plastic tags off.

Driving me nuts. Suggestions?

It ain't easy! I have about 4 dozen of JTI's towels (some colors come with tags, some don't).

The best way I've found is to use a very sharp Exacto and lightly score right at the 'holes' where the tag is sewn into the hem. If you pull the tag nice & taunt, you usually don't have to cut all the way through-it will seperate on it's own and you don't risk cutting the hem. Basically, you want to cut through the middle of the holes there the tag is sewn into the hem. Then, once the large part is cut off by disecting all the holes, you can pull the back part out with tweezers. I found it helps to have someone hold the towel down so you can pull the tag & cut without it all moving.

Geez! Did I just write all that about how to remove a tag from a towel?:shocked I got problems....

I guess the best detailers go into great detail about even the smallest details. ;)

Don't worry about it, that's why you're here with the rest of us! :D

(Anyone remember the words to the Eagles "Hotel California"?) :wavey

Actually I'm not talking abou the sewn ones which say MicroTouch but the glued-on tags on the green towels.

I too had the same problem and called Tom. He advised that it happens sometimes and that he would replace them all for me. The next time that I ordered I got the ones that have the tags stiched in so I could cut them with a razor.

I too had a hard time with removing the "peel-off" tags, but here's what Tom recommends:

NOTE: If removing peel-off sticker tag, I recommend removing with small pair of tweezers and then very carefully peel off the tag very slowly.

I just took a lot of time and started with one edge and got it loose, then pulled the tag off slowly.
