Hey I was wondering what is a really good sythetic wax that lasts very long and protects your cars paint the best! Names and prices would be great!

-thanks nick.

A pure synthetic wax is usually considered a sealant. You can get a paste - but liquids are generally the rule. Menzerna PowerLock is very good - under $30.

If you want a hybrid wax (synthetic/carnauba) check out Wolfgang Fuzion. I think it's about $200. I like it. If you have a dark car, check out Dodo Juice Blue Velvet Pro ~ $80.

To add to what Steve said and my personal opinions I like BlackFire Wet Diamond for a sealant and for a hybrid wax I like BlackFire BlackIce

I agree with Troy on the Collinite 845. For a pure sealant you can't go wrong with Duragloss 105. It has a little "warmer" look than most sealants and the durability is among the best out there. Can't get more bang for the buck than these two products - Less than $20. If you really want some added durability, you can layer the 845 over the DG105. This makes for a bulletproof winter combo.

Poorboy's World... EXP pure sealant, very user friendly, won't break the bank, excellent durability...and great mirror like shine...been my go to for details for over ten years

If your paint is light colored or metallic or you're not particularly interested in "warmth" you may like Duragloss 111. If you're like me and enjoy the application process of a paste, Finish Kare 1000P is my choice ( I like it as a wheel sealant too). $11 and $18 respectively.

I used this and didn't like it. I think it said something like you can leave it on the paint for up to an hour before removal for extra shine (paraphrasing).

That was a mistake. It was like removing concrete. On the other hand, BFWD, WG DGPS or PowerLock probably could be left on for days and the just wipe right off.

Just my experience, but generally I like PB's stuff.

I've only encountered what you had happen when to much product is applied..betting that's what happened with you...and in some cases the temp of the paint can take longer for it to dry. and could cause it hard to remove...nothing that a good lite spray of QD wouldn't take care of

You want to apply ant sealant in very thin applications, I tend to layer mine..over the weekend I will do one on Saturday and then another on Sunday wants it's bonded to the surface

That said you leave the product on the car for an hour or so, to let it setup / dry..There is not specific time for that I've had to remove it in under 30 minutes with great results.

I have used Finish Kare FK1000p high temp wax. Amongst the BlackFire products I have I just couldn't see applying those when I still have the can of Finish Kare and had to use it again from the experience of the endurance of it. I also hate to use it because it is such a bear to get off if applied to thick or let haze or cure too long. Last Winter I applied a couple coats at the end of September 2012 and it last until last spring so close to 6 months but I could tell at the car washes it was taking its toll and wasn't much left. Last fall I only managed to get on one coat and then it got too cold to get another coat on. I haven't been able to wash it this winter as much and it has only seen half the washes as last winter and it still seems to be holding strong after at least 4 months and hoping it lasts until May because with the sub zero temps we have been having all winter I don't see it warming up until into May to get new protection on.

I find FK1000P a pleasure to apply and remove. That's what I like about harder pastes. For me it's much easier to apply an even thin coat. It's the liquids that I have a tendency to apply too liberally.

Maybe that was the issue. It was years ago when I was still learning the ropes.

I would recommend Menzerna Power Lock offers very good durability, easy application, and the decent looks.
