System One? Jay Leno

I am not sure which pads they are, I can take pictures of them if you would like so you can tell me, I have several edge pads and the only one I found to work well with me was a 6 or 7 inch yellow pad. most the other foam (that I have) seemto be far too stiff or grabby, maybe you really have to prime these pads much more than others, even my white pad wanted to skip across the paint ime.

Sounds like you used the dura foam pads but we make them in USA Durafoam, USA and European Polyester Urethane foams, and Prepolymer European style foams. What is important to understand is that no foam company really has a monolpoly on foam types. None of us are foam manufactuerers, we all buy from the same sources and have just about every foam available to us. Our claim to fame is the quick connect system which we can make pads in any foam or wool type available into.

Toto

Richard, Horváth is a Hungarian name, so greetings from a countrymate!

Hey Bence - I must have read that book about the revolution of 1956 about a dozen times in school. It was called the Bridge at Andau - probably spelled that wrong, but it was a great book.

Gosh, he really sanded that thing. Didnt use a block either. :bolt

I would like to look at the paint in the sun. Cant tell much from a vid.

Yeah, pretty much the same as I felt about it. Wonder how much he had to pay Leno to tape that.

It's funny, someone on here dogged people that criticize product before trying them, looking at this video, I don't know if the guy with the buffer is the owner or what, but he is representing that company, that is completely enough to turn me away from ever trying it. Why should I have to overlook a procedure like that and give a product a try just for the sake of being fair?

*devils advocate* choosing not to use a product and flaming it is totally different

Touche' although, the reason for not using is a sort of flaming it. If it were so reputable, why would they have this person representing them? Why would they show this procedure on Jay Leno of all people's cars.

I understand your point...

The occasion may occur where a company may not pick the best person to represent their company, if we judge the product by the personality we could potentially overlook a top notch product...

So you are telling me that if you saw some guy represent Zaino poorly before you ever used it that you wouldn't bother trying it? Or would you order a small sample and judge for yourself? Results rule, not company reps.

True true true, that's why I nominate you to buy it and tell me how much better it is than any of the hundreds of products out that can remove sanding scratches and final polish;)

That's neither here nor there, if this was zaino's step into the industry I would most likely be swayed from using it, I don't like to speculate, there's enough on all our plates with REALITY.

There's nothing wrong with sanding by hand, as long as you use good form and you can get your marks out. I wouldn't want to hand sand a whole car, but some old school guys still do. I preper a DA, but there's places they won't go, which require you to manually do it.

The problem and reason not to sand by hand is your fingers are round, not flat. I would never sand someone's car with rounded objects in fear of conceyving (sp?) or indenting if you will. And yes, I have seen the results of doing so. Maybe it's more likely on fresh repaints, but it's definitely not a practice I would ever suggest, nor would I agree with someone teaching such a method.

There's, like, nine different things wrong with sanding by hand. [You mean using a sanding block, right?] I grew up in a body shop owned by my dad, and even remotely suggesting you can sand with nothing more than your hand and a piece of paper is laughable, at best. At worst it's horrible advice to someone reading this who doesn't know any better.

Exactly, it's best for Autopia not to promote such actions.
