Switch from Klasse to Blackfire?

I'm debating weither to switch from Klasse to Blackfire. I've used the Klasse system for the last 3 years and have been very happy with it. However im curious to see if the results would be any better? Any former Klasse users, who now use Blackfire have any imput on the difference in the results?

I would probably start with Pinnacle Polyclay followed by the Menzerna polishes, then a few coats of Blackfire, topped with Paste Souveran. Then I'd maintain it with Crystal Mist or Clear Pearl.

Blackfire looks a lot more like carnauba than does Klasse SG. Has a softer, warmer feel with the jetting/wet look. If you are topping with Souveran I doubt you would see any difference between the two.

Some claim that Klasse has a sterile shine. I was wondering if by switching to Blackfire, I would get closer to the holy grail of the deeper "Ultimate shine". In additon, it sounds like its easier (and faster) to use than KSG, as you don't have wait for a day between coats.

You still must wait a day between coats with the new formulation of BF. It was just the original that you didnt.

I currently use both on my cars, and like them both. Im not sure which I like better, they are bothh excellent products. BF is easier to remove than Klasse for sure, but not Souveran easy.

If you are like many people here(myself included), you will purchase BF because you have to. Your curiosity will force you to buy it. Thats why I have so many different types of waxes and sealents.

I hate this hobby.

:)

If you are used to the longevity of Klasse then the switch to Blackfire will be a shock to the system. Its not going to last as long. I've found that 4 or 5 coats of SG with a few toppers of a good carnauba give me the same look as Blackfire. Its more work, but that's the fun part. :)

I agree that the old formulation of BF did not last very long at all, however the new formulation lasts much longer than BF1, it may even last longer than Klasse. IMHO

But i must say that Klasse topped with a good carnauba is my favorite combo.

Truthfully, Ive used BF I, then tried Klasse....I hated Klasse, just my opinion, please dont jump down my throat, but I found it difficult to work with....I went back to BF I, and have since moved to BF II....I absolutely love it, the ease and clarity, depth is amazing....HOWEVER, i have found slight similarities with the Klasse SG. And by that I mean, its liquid state, and sometimes un-ease of removal (notice i didnt say difficulty). Its ever so slightly, a bit more stickier? if you will.....Sometimes my work requires a damp MF to remove any residual, and that may be my own fault, actually it is my own fault......Overall, simply stated, the stuff IS incredible......My prep work may change, but BF always hits the clear last.....Im sure you will enjoy using it, as well as what it does for you !

Used on otherwise identical (silver) cars, the BF (both I and II) are both slightly darker and noticeably less "sterile" looking than Klasse. I like the BF look better, but I'm not sure I would if you topped the Klasse with a good carnauba. I'm not sure about topping the BF; it's pretty close to a carnauba look and I like to be able to add layers.

I actually find the SG EASIER to work with than BFII. I get the minor BF-smearing no matter how thin/carefully I apply it and regardless of wait time and removal methods (MF/"suede" MF/hand/machine) AND regardless of environmental factors (climate-controlled garage). It's VERY minor, not enough to turn me off BF, and it goes away after a while, but I wouldn't like to deal with it on a different color car.

Interesting, I had the opposite effect with SG, I used it on my Cuad cab once, ,and havent opened the bottle since.....Im thinking of turning the SG into a QD, but i wasnt real tickled with what it did to my Dodge, so maybe ill put it on something else, what i dont know ! I actually think the BF I protectant was easier to use, but was twice the dust magnet.....I like to layer too, I only have two on now, maybe this weekend I'll slap another on......I HATE to say it, but the second layer WAS easier than the first ! Sound familiar ????

I just switched from SG to BFII and the depth and shine is stunning. I've also used Zaino for a few years and I gave Platinum a whirl but so far the BFII is the most pleasing to my eyes. It reminds me of SG topped with Souveran but without the multicoat hassles. The only drawback I've seen is that it attracts alot of dust. Did I mention it attracts dust? :D Holy cow is it a dust magnet. Its even worse than Blitz wax.

Yeah, its a matter of personal opinion. Both KSG and BF2 have their individual charachteristics. I agree with Adamah. BF2 meets my prefrences for a polish a little better.

BF gives more of a deep glow and Klasse gives more of a sheen. Its up to you, but try both before you ditch the other.

I agree Adamah, it is a dust magnet, but its the sacrifice im willing to take for the final product.....Ya HAVE to top it with something monthly for best results.......but it is awesome.......:xyxthumbs

BF II is much less of a dust magnet than the original. I have had better results using a few coats of Blackfire without a topcoat in the harsh winter weather with salt on the finish for at least 5 weeks straight. Trunk, pure Blackfire, Rest of car P21S. In winter dust, slightly more dust. But the pure Blackfire held up better.

You have snowy weather. I would try Klasse All in One then Blackfire.

The look is fabulous. The durability is between Klasse and a Carnauba, just as advertized.

Im just wondering if the B/F II would look any better topped with Souveran, as opposed to the Klasse Twins with the Souveran topper. I suppose the only way to find out is to try it!
