Swirls, Haze and Zaino

Hello all.



I have a new car that is covered with swirls and haze. I applied Zaino Z5 with the accelerator acccording to the instructions and it has done nothing to remove (fill in the swirls) or remove the haze.



I probably put some of the swirls and haze on there along with help from the dealer :mad:



Anyway, what is the simple step by step process to remove them? I am going to try it by hand because I do not trust myself with a PC right now.



I can't remove the zaino with dawn. I heard that that is what Sal Z. said. So I guess I will just use SMR or RC to do it.



What do I apply to remove the swirls and haze? What applicator? and what method (circles, side to side, back and forth)?

What do I use to remove (MF)?



Then do I use a polish to really smooth the paint, then wash with dawn or car shampoo? Or just go to Zaino.



Trying to read all those postings to gather this but having a hard time.

Zaino Z5 does nothing to swirls IMHO unless they are very very very minor on a silver car. Zaino Z5 helps fill in washing swirls in the Zaino though.



The PC has a short learning curve. I would use the PC for the dealer swirls and haze. If you tried by hand it would be a long and tedious process. It can be done by hand but the PC is ust so much faster.



I would get 3M PI III Machine Glaze or some Meguiar's DACP for the dealer swirls and haze. The SMR seems a bit too weak with the PC and the RC seems a bit to strong.



A search for PC techniques and siwlr removal will help a bunch. Some really good threads on it (alBoston and geekysteve have some nice articles 4DSC has a nice buying guide..)



Then do a dawn wash and Zaino away.
 
Well with the PC there would be a selection of foam pads. Foam cutting, polishing, or finishing. For your swirls I recommend 3M PI III or Meguiar's DACP with a white polishing pad, if that doesn't cut it the foam cutting pad should do the trick.



For applying Zaino, I sue a foam applicator pad, www.properautocare.com has the Pinnacle foam discs which I find www.topoftheline.com had the same thing at a cheaper cost, I buy like 20 at a time from TOL (20 applicators last 2 years for me.)
 
Since I am still gunshy at the moment about the PC and people who have Infiniti G35's are complaining that the paint is cheap and thin, are there foam applicators I can use by hand? If that doesn't work I will go to the PC.



When I do it by hand, is it back and forth or side to side? I read circular motions are bad.
 
Wehn I do it by hand I go back and forth the way air flows over the car, mid way through, go side to side, then diagonal, then back and forth the way air flows over the car. Sort of hit the swirls from all facets. an attack on them from all directions as you will.



I use these for hand application of waxes and fine polishes/glazes
