Swirls at LA auto show

It Probably does not help that the cars are parked inside all day... HOW MUCH DIRT CAN THEY GATHER? so why do u need to polish it every 30 minutes? They arent getting any cleaner.. All u are doing is causing more damage to the paint (swirls.. etc) DO an excellent job the first time, THEN LET IT BE! at least until the end of the day

It is funny how this "Detailing Sickness" afflicts us!

Actually hotford, it really isn't funny....I want so badly to wash my car daily! I look at the tires w/ about one or two days of brake dust on them and it makes me sick!!!!!!!!! Man, I need some kind of pill to cure this craze...........:D

I’m not sure but I think they like the swirl marks. Gives the car more reflective area so you get those twinkle spots from lights and flash bulbs. A twinkle, sparkly car is a eye catcher for the main stream public. “Oh, it sparkles like a diamond.

I just finished detailing my truck before I took my wife Camping with our truck and trailer. We camp at a horse ranch, and take the truck up into the hills for fishing.

When we got back, one of the Ranch hands came over to chat about how the fishing was. He took the can of Pepsi he was drinking, and placed it on the hood of my truck!!! You know, a flat surface for can storage!!

Well, I can not remember much as I think I had a mini stroke! My wife said that my face went totally white(blood pressure), and looked as if I was ready to attack the guy!

Yup! It is a sickness!!!! I still cringe over that pop can!!!:D

I recently brought my new car to the clinic X-mas dinner. One by one, collegues wanted to see the car. One guy leaned on the roof with his elbow and then sat in the car. When he got out, his heel was on the painted sill as he missed the area with the kick plate. Another guy used both hands and pushed on the hood! I looked immediately to see if he was wearing a ring. I almost cried!

Iceman,

I know what you mean! Why does everyone come over, rub their hand on the paint, and say "oops! I shouldn't have done that with my ring on!!" PMO!!!! They say oops! I say there goes another hour with the buffer and DACP! And more clear coat!

The ranch hand did not even clue in. He said, "I know a great lake but you will have to winch yourself into it!"

Gee, I guess I will get right to it!! Door scratches here I come....Yeah Right Over MY DEAD BODY!!!!:nono

My Favorite part of the big auto shows(Chicago) is the amazing number of dash knobs, shift knobs etc.. that are missing! I saw a Chrysler guy with a box of dash knobs and a tube of superglue going from car to car replacing knobs.:nono
Nothing to add here, but that is a great user name!!

Makes me want a Royale with Cheese!:D

Going to car shows makes me sick!

At the Seattle Int'l Auto Show, I cringed as this 'detail company' hired by the show went from display to display wiping all of the cars(from Chevys to Astons) with the same dry flannel rag(dirty, I might add!:nono ). All I noticed were the swirls all over!

And, more recently, I went to a PT Cruiser Show(I wasn't entered, but I wanted it to looks its best anyhow.). I parked right outside of the show 'area', got out, and went over it with some Z6. I looked at the show PT's, and they had tons of swirls! They were heavily modified, so people just didn't notice, I guess! Meanwhile, I got tons of compliments on my paint and "Has that even left the lot yet?"s from passer-bys. :bounce Not too bad after being driven daily for a year!:xyxthumbs
