Next time you are there for any other project, do just the decklid to show what it could look like if it was done right. Then either hold to your price to do the rest or let them try to explain why there is such a difference in the paint on the vehicle.
Thanks, Charles W
As stated last night, the sales manager is pretty familiar with my work. I think you have a great idea with doing only the trunklid, then letting them explain to a potential buyer why the difference. This will be my angle of attack, and I'll let y'all know what comes about.
I did want to add that I'm getting two different stories about this (this is not the only car on the lot that looks like this, either) Detail guy says no way he could have done that, it must have come in like that. Sales dept. blames detail guy and round and round they go.
FWIW, I've been dealing with car dealerships since 1996 in one form or another. Starting off making window stickers/buyer's guides like these:
http://www.autoplusnet.com
Now my work with them covers all aspects of recon like carpet dye, trim blackout, protective carpet covers, headlight restoration, etc...
BUT, my target market for auto detail has always been mainly high-end vehicles, business owners who are sticklers for clean rides, they have money but no time or skill to take care of their cars. Getting dealers to pony up the cheese to have their inventory STANDING TALL has always been an uphill battle.
I do have one dealer account,
www.motorcityofcapecoral.biz who sends me detail work and pays retail, is happy with the work, and did I mention, pays retail.
Will let y'all know how this Accord goes. I'm almost to the point where I'll do it for dirt just to prove a point. Every week I go visit this lot and walk by this Accord and it just makes me cringe.
Anyway, sorry for the long rant.
Regards,
Mike R
