Swirled up Carrera price

well, I have a cayman coming in saturday for the same process and I am charging $300, I wouldnt get out of bed for the 6 hours of work for $100 unless I was desperate (I work too much as is) for money, but even then, it would be a wash, clay, poliseal job done in 3 hours.

typical porsche black paint receives 85rd as its last step, no matter what the previous process before was...it just adds SOOOO much depth and gloss to the paint. (ultrafina I hear is a good substitute for 85rd)

Removing swirls is lengthy no matter how intense they are. That is a $300 job all day. If you are not going to correct them, and you are just going to to a one step DA polish and then seal I still say $150.

I have to agree with many above. I think just on the clay alone, you are cutting it short. 30 minutes to clay doesn't seem like nearly enough time. Also, in my region, after calculating in electricity, water, product, etc. I am making $30/hr. A job like that, I have priced out at $325, assuming no wetsanding needs to be done, and the paint is not stubborn (again, as stated above). I also agree that an upsell of a sealant and a "non" spray wax may be better not only for you, but for the client, as he will get longer protection out of your services. Last year, I up sold a sealant and the client was so happy that he went that route, that this year he called me to re-do the car, plus he wants me to do two of his others, plus three of his work trucks. So, a simple upsell such as (in this case) BFWD sealant for a minimal cost, I actually made out better because I aquired five additional vehicle's, and all six will be getting done every year. On top of that, he referred two other people to me, and they are lined up for next month. Who knows, a simple upsell on those can multiply vehicles or other clients.

Well the Carrera has arrived and I wanted to get some good pics of the paint but I am really struggling. First let me say I tried using my iPhone and sunlight and can't get a picture that shows anything. The swirls can only be seen in direct sunlight and that messes up the exposure. I also tried a small led flashlight and a high intensity snapon flashlight but no luck. I'm going to try my digital camera tomorrow but suggestions would be appreciated. My swirls are about 25% of the swirls in the 3rd pic in this thread http://www.autopia.org/forum/pro-de...e-paint-correction-opti-guard-protection.html TIA
