This XK8 belongs to a friend of the family. She actually took a trip out of the country so another friend called me up and had me shine up the Jag. This car was SWIRLED up. The pics dont show it, but they really kicked my @$$. My usual combo needed a few extra steps. You may spot a swirl here or there, but for the most part, the car looks a trillion times better than it did.
Wash with NXT.
303 Convertible top cleaner on the top.
Clay with Claymagic blue
HTEC/OP (Stilez compound) on an Edge Yellow at 1700 RPM two times on the body, and three times on the hood
HTEC/OP on green edge @ about 1500 rpm
OP on green 1200-1500 rpm ( I dont remember exactly the speed)
SSR1 via PC on a white LC polishing pad. I havent used SSR1 in a long time, and I like the way it looks, so I dug it out and it worked well for me.
Pinnacle Souveran by hand.
Megs Hot shine on the tires.
Adams carpet cleaner in the LGCM on the mats.
Adams VRT on the vinyl
Adams Leather conditioner on the seats.
Before polishing (after wash): The whole car was covered in swirls like these. The hood being the worst, but that pic didnt come out.
The Makita was limbering up in that pic.
The pics dont show too well, but take my word for it.....This car was majorly swirled and they weren't too happy about leaving.
Here are the after shots:
Here's the wood shot:
I had to wipe the interior down again after this shot. I took this before I was done with the car. The owner leaves the top down on this car most all the time as it has recently become a fair weather machine.
Thanks for looking. Hope everyone had a great holiday. Thanks and well wishes out to all those who have served and all of those currently serving. Take care everyone.
