Swirl Option

I was walking across the parking lot this morning and came across someone's handy work. For the most part I "try" not to look at every car but this ones black and was sitting alone seemingly waiting for me to pass by...

Out came the iPhone and a couple of shots to start your Monday off on the right foot.

The entire car looks like this but the low morning sun makes the side much more noticeable.

Enjoy!!

That looks painful. I was at a gas station yesterday and there was a new BOSS 302 Mustang. The owner had just driven through the swirl-o-matic car wash and was carefully drying her with paper towels. It was black. It was SCARY how trashed the paint was.

hopefully, this was someone who screwed up and couldn't figure out how to make it right yet. man, that's like fingernails on a chalkboard. :(

Looks like the detailer told him he was the best detailer around.....so sad:inspector:

Time constraints prevented me from prepping my cars (Fiat Abarth, Jaguar XKR) for the Supercar Saturday show this past weekend (Bannockburn, IL). Nonetheless, I attended without entering my vehicles. While there were some great cars, I left the show in horror and disappointment. From Lamborginis and Ferraris to a Mercedes 300 Gullwing, all were covered in swirls and fine scratches! The paint on quite a few cars was hazy and dull.

I wanted to ask a few of the owners if they had ever heard of auto detailing. I just don't get it - you'd think that an owner of a $170k+ car would take care of it or at least pay someone to take care of it.

I see it all the time at car shows. Wonderful cars that look like they have been washed with Brillo and steel wool.
For most, I don't believe they even know or are aware that their paint looks like that or is even in that condition.
I have mentioned it to a few owners at the cars shows and they don't seem to care about the swirls in the paint.
For most of "these" folks they have a bottle of spray Quick Detailer and a microfiber cloth. To them that's a detail.

I was at a car show recently, the paint on the car parked next to me looked like it was covered in spider webs and holograms.
The real ironic part was he had banners, posters & fliers covering the ground & his car advertising himself as a master detailer.

This will continued to happen all the time everywhere there's a car show. So many with money to burn but won't or don't know anything about detailing. ll they learn is from hack's who put up banner's and poster's saying their the best around. It's showing your work at these show's who is the Boss!

My wife and I recently went to a major auto retailer. While all the cars were clean it was like the swirls and holograms connected to each vehicle. We had to leave after my too many "wows" and "oh my" comments.

Some people just don't know any different. If they do they just don't want to spend the extra time to keep it nice. I've had people look very concerned when they are told they can't go through the auto wash anymore. To them time is more important. (5min vrs 30min to an hour)

I actually avoid car shows at most costs. I cannot stand to see such great cars in such terrible condition!

I can't walk around a parking lot with noticing this. It's all I see I even got my girl friend doing it. She hate its "I use to like cars, Now all I see is swirls" "You ruined me liking cars"

I saw a car the other day that looked like one big swirl. It was a complete mess. It makes me sad to see cars like these

It makes me sad to look at my cars sometimes. When it's busy I'm like the shoemaker...my kids have no shoes.
I need to find someone who can detail a car.
