Swirl/Minor Scratch REMOVAL

One of our vehicles is black and between not having time to keep up on the detailing, building a house, etc., the paint is not in like new condition. Plenty of swirls and minor surface scratching. I want to remove the scratching, not hide it. I'll be buying a PC soon so what product would you recommend to remove the swirling/scratching? I have done multiple searches but this site is almost too informative and I need a straight answer, LOL.



I am good to go on all other products. :)

Menzerna Intensive Polish



Are the ones i have used with great succes via PC and orage/yellow cutting pads



My negative input about the SSr2.5 is that it seems to gum up the pads pretty thick, maybe im using too much but i didnt have that issue at all with the menzerna IP.



BOth products from what i understand and have expierenced have no fillers to "hide" swirls.... that in both products are the best selling points.
 
Alright, related question. Is there a product that should be used between the polish and AIO? My plan is to wash, clay, polish, ??, AIO, SGx2, P21Sx2.

I really like the Sonus Paintwork Cleanser I used prior to AIO. It really brought out a nice shine and that was by hand. I can't wait to try it with the PC.

I have bought SSR 1 but haven't tried it out yet.

Can you get your hands on a rotary polisher? That is if you're experienced with using one. This is the only way to remove swirls from the paint. However, I have heard of people polishing away swirls with a pC but not sure how well that works. I, myself, do not use a PC. Either a rotary for paint correction problems/polishing (or) by hand if a quick spruce up (no swirls or scratches.)
 
A rotary polisher is out of the question. I have no experience with them and I certainly do not trust myself to use one for the first time on one of our cars. :eek:



I've seen before and after pictures of removing swirls/minor scratching with a PC. :xyxthumbs
 
Yeah, look into a Cyclo. IMO you're much more likely to remove serious marring with one of those than with a PC.



Products from 1Z are very user-friendly, and the PI-III line from 3M works very well too. Not that you'd go wrong with the PoorBoy's. I would *not* expect that you can go from the 2.5 to AIO without an intermediate step. Get something milder too. Anything that's gonna remove bad marring will also leave micromarring (most of the time anyways).
 
I give some points to the Menzerna products. But as mentioned here, if you are using the PC, be prepared to spend a lot of time removing those heavy swirls/scratches. I had the oportunity to try IP with yellow pad on a heavy swirled car. I only had time to do 1-2 passes, and it removed 50-70% of the swirls.



No I need to try DACP and see which one is easier to use.
 
TW85. As stated above you'll probably want to use a less abrasive polish between the 2.5 and the AIO. If you're already ordering PB products I'd check out the SSR1 between the 2.5 and the AIO as it coupled with a white pad should bring back any shine that could have been deminished with the more abrasive polish.



Another alternative would be Menzerna FP or a similar.



I'd either go Menzerna IP, FP

OR PW SSR2.5 then SSR1



either combo should serve the purpose
