By no means am I an expert on swirl removers, but so far Poorboy's SSR2 has been the easiest for me to use on minor marring.
I think it can be used by hand, but it would be a lot of work no matter what swirl remover you choose.
In the past I have used Meg's #83 DACP and it does a good job, but is probably more abrasive than is usually needed. I have also used Meg's #9 Swirl Remover 2.0 and Meg's #82 Swirl Free Polish with good results.
The SSR2 seems to be a good compromise being just a little more abrasive than #9 or #82 and just a little less abrasive than #83.
I do use a PC and feel that for swirl removal, it is a very handy tool to have.
Like I said earlier, it's a lot of work by hand. (But it can be done.)
