Swirl Filler

Clayed my daily driver last night - will be working with Sonus SFX-2 tonight to reduce swirls in some areas. I don't have "bad" swirls - some some micromarring and scuff marks, and the car is metallic silver so they don't show up much anyway (only under the halogen).



Normally I would go to Klasse AIO and then a few layers of SG but as these only really highlight swirls/marring and a I was planning to top with Collinite 476S, I thought I might SKIP the Klasse and just go for a Collinite application to fill the remaining swirls.



I have heard the Collinite 476S has great durability (and beading) and I thought Klasse AIO & SG below would stop its "swirl filling abilities" as they would be coated in glaze?



Any thoughts?
 
Yep - I'm going to use the Sonus SFX-2 but I don't want to work on it for "ever" to get "everything" out...



The glaze won't fill swirls and reduce their appearance though will it? If anything it will enhance it? I was always going to top with Collinite however if the glaze "enhances" the swirls/marring then I top with Collinite will the wax still work to reduce their appearance?

I'm *pretty* sure most glazes have lots of fillers. That's what dealers put on cars so they look swirl-free when they give them to you.
 
KSG(laze) might be called a "glaze" but it doesn't act like a glaze in the sense that "glaze" is usually understood.



In my experience, the Klasse twins don't hide marring, they usually make it more noticeable. Waxes like 476S might not *hide* marring either, but they generally make it *less* noticeable.



A proper glaze (e.g., Meg's #2/#5/#7/#81/Deep Crystal #2, 3M IHG, etc.) will hide some of the marring. Topping this sort of glaze with Collinite will help lock in the glaze's fillers. This is a time-tested approach that works well.
 
sealant glaze wont hide jack



id suggest you polish with sfx2..



then add aio and sealnt glaze for some proction



at that stage if your happy go ahead with collinte....if you still have swirls then megs#7 and then collinte
 
CK's vanilla moose is a nifty little combination product that combines a light-->medium abrasive polish with some pretty decent glazing oils. use VM first to remove/hide your swirling, and then top with the collinite and you should be good to go for a long lasting LSP combo that hides most of your swirling.
 
The SFX-2 is doing a great job - I did one side of the car last night and got rid of most of the swirls. I didn't have much confidence in them coming out as they didn't on the repainted hood with Sonus SFX-2 and a polishing pad - the factory clear must be softer!



Will launch straight into the Collinite then tonight!
 
Cheers! I have some of that - I'll try putting that down first! I have almost finished with the SFX-2. Does the Step 2 have fillers?
