SUV Roofs - How do you...

I am not short by any means (6') but that platform only looks to be about 12-15" high or so.

I believe the platform from Bauer stands 21". I'm 5'9" and it works well for me to use on my wife's Tahoe. I have to do half from each side but I doubt you will find anything that lets you get the whole thing from one side unless it is a platform that you can drive the

SUV under. :chuckle: But, that would be nice.

The Bauer platform has a weight capacity of 500 lbs. so my wife and I could both get on it with our supplies and work together (like that is ever going to happen.

Before getting that platform, I used a stepladder and quite a few times I pulled muscles in my back trying to hold on and reach over at the same time. I'm just too clumsy to work safely like that.

Everytime I pull that platform out, I give silent thanks to Accumulator for recommending it and to my wife for letting me buy it.

I have never had an issue with my platform. I move it to either side of my truck and I can reach all areas of the roof easily. I too have used stepladders, and they are a major PITA. The platform is light years beyond a stepladder in convenience, comfort of use, etc.

Yeah, the Bauer stands 21" tall (mine measures to 21 1/8"). I find it a good compromise between the step-up and the working height.

AutoCadillac- Glad you like the Bauer platform. I push 'em kinda hard here, and I'd hate for somebody to spend all that money, based on my recommendation, and then be unhappy with it.
