been seeing SurBuf pads being brought up here and there.. was trying to find some flex users with these pads.. any tips or problems i need to be aware of.. right now im going with lake country yellow cutting pads and im getting some pretty great results.. but some cars i feel i can get better but i dont wanna spend 2 days doing it.. do these pads work that well?

thanks

I haven't tried it yet, but people I consider 100% reliable all say it works great and their opinions are good enough for me (and I'm not the most trusting guy around either ;) ). Aggressive approach though, I heard it's like "damp-sanding with 6000 grit".

Sorry to necro-thread but there is some good/similar info that I need in here...

If it work with the pc, it will work with the 3401. I use black wool, gray wool and the purple wool. None of these shed.

Thomas - could you provide a link to the wool pads that you mention above? I have a 3401 and looking for some pads that are above the LC yellow cutting pads in terms of correction power. I was leaning towards purchasing a few Surbufs but your comments have me interested in researching wool pads. I was always under the assumption that wool was strictly for rotaries.

TIA

you can try shurbuff pad with meg 105 three passes a spray of water three more passes comes out out great.

thomas, you find the black micro surface is stronger than the pfw? I thought it to be the other way around...and that the black finished out better too!

Eric - the black wool is way more aggressive than the pfw.

Hey all - many thanks for the prompt response on wool pads. With the purple foamed-wool pad being the least aggressive of the bunch, is it still considered more aggressive than a standard LC Yellow cutting pad?

the LC yellow is a junk pad IMO, I stopped using them after getting the PFW about 3 years ago. pfw marring is much easier to clean up compared to yellow marring.

Ill have to revisit the black wool pads again.
