Excellent description on your process!
As I told another chap interested in using a Surbuf... There is not a lot of wiggle room with this method. If anyone is going to try it they should use the procedure you have outlined, otherwise they will likely be disappointed.
Once they've got a few cars successfully polished with this pad under their belt, I suppose experimentation would be fine. At least by the fourth car they will know what results they have been able to get, and use it as a benchmark.
NICE JOB!!!:notworthy:
Very true Kevin. What I have found is you have to get the right combo of:
1. Amount of water you spritz on the surface during step 7. Try less at first and see how long that extends your polishing time.
2. Pressure applied to the PC while polishing. You will use less pressure with this method then you will with orange pad/M105 KBM method. So start out with light pressure and see if that removes the defects you have. The amount of pressure as with the standard KBM is dictated by the hardness of the clearcoat you are working on and the severity of the defects.
Good stuff Bryan! Is the Flex 3401 too powerful for this method?
I have never tried it as I sold my 3401 before I started using this method. But as Paul said I would use minimal pressure.
