Surbuf ordered!!!!!

Was applying some Zaino to the Tahoe today, and I was getting sick of using the MF Pads (though they're great), so I started rummaging through the cabinets for something else.

I found a MF bonnet (for the PC) and figured "hmmm, what the heck?" I misted a little Z6 on it, dabbed on a little Z5/ZFX and went to town, using the bonnet with my hand (no pad on back, just the bonnet over my hand like a little "glove".

I really liked it - gave me great control, I could feel where I was working and it spread the product nicely, thin and even. I suggest you try it with your favorite wax!

I also noticed that the Z6 works well for shining black plastic trim. The running boards and bumper covers shine nicely after a quick mist of Z6 on a MF towel.

Anyone else ever tried this?

Also, sometime back, someone mentioned they were able to buy little bottles similar to the ones that ship with ZFX...I went to Lowes, Home Depot, Wal-Mart & True Value today, and no one had anything even close. Could you steer me in the right direction?

geekysteve,

I'm getting the Zaino kit soon and I'd like to know why did you get sick of using the MF applicator pad? I have 4 of these MF pads myself and I'd like to know if there are any pros/cons to using MF pads when applying Zaino.

I was feeling like trying something new that day...just figured I'd give something else a try, and wound up liking the bonnet approach.

Nothing wrong with the MF applicators - I still like 'em, but sometimes they feel a little clumsy to me.

geekysteve,

Have you used the Viking foam applicator pads that other Zaino users like to use? If so, how would you compare the application process to the MF pads?

I use liitle bottles like the ones with ZFX for condiments when I camp and hike and I have found them at pharmor and a couple of other large drug stores.Hope this helps take care:up

I've tried the foam applicators - not the Viking ones, so I can't comment on those, and I didn't like them. I've always been a little afraid of foam applicators because they always seems to slip away from me, and I'm paranoid about picking up dust/grit in the applicator.

Just my $.02, nothing should be concluded from it, as I'm a pretty weird guy. ;)

I thought about that, too, but then found the Containerstore. I ordered 30 of the 2oz bottles (.69ea) and 10 of the "drip" bottles (.89ea).

I think part of the problem with the Zaino bottles is that they feel like they're Naglene (sp?) bottles - which are a little more stiff than the normal plastic "craft" bottles. I also had a very hard time cleaning them - there was always a little bit of residue in them.

I should be stocked for a while, now!

hey now, when did Zaino users become so courteous? was their an update in the Z-chip? Z.2 perhaps maybe that's why Floni's not around as much?

haha j/k of course :D nice to see Autopia doing well

Geeky check out the viking it has a nice hold onto thingy so dropping it is harder to do. I think INTERMEZZO even posted pics some time ago.

Floni got the new ZXP chip last week

O.K. We have ordered the 4", 5.5", 6.5" and 7" Surbuf pads. :hurray::hurray::hurray:They will all be in stock about the middle of next week except the 5.5" which will take a few weeks longer due to a mfg. backorder.

Thanks for the input.
