This is our 1st prancing horse detail for the year 2010. Its a good start for 2010.

The 599, such alluring body lines with curves that my machine couldn’t reach. Haha.

The monocoque chassis were much more simple to remove the defects compared to the bonnet/doors/boot.

The detail took a total of 3 days. Should have taken lesser time. Total about 20 hours.

It was a 2 step detail that removed at least 80% of the defects.

outstanding pic's! May I ask what camera you were using?

Write-up is very solid with such a beautiful car - thanks for sharing and nice work!

Mutt: Thanks. Its an old Nikon D70 with dirty CCD so dont mind the black spots. It has lots of polishing dust and dirt on it. :) My main camera for car shoots will be the D300 as per my spitfire detail/shoot.

Vapor: Yeap! Its a darn sexy machine.

nice detail, looks solid

question, why the yellow foam and not a PFW or a microsurface black lambswool - I find that both offer up more cut than yellow and run cooler. Just a thought...

Toyotaguy: Thanks for the suggestion. I personally dont think a PFW would be necessary. An orange LC pad would be a better choice.

Anyway the its the yellow Meguiars polishing pad, not the LC yellow. Cheers!

Is that first pic of the car, all finished?

Looks like theres some sweating with the wax, possible hologram... see how the light carries in a straight line off the side vent?
