Dont flame me for asking - but is it best to use pressure when applying wax? I know less pressure is better for removing wax but when using a foam applicator, should I be pushing into the paint at all or simply gliding along and coating the surface?

Well, since you have been talking about washing problems in other threads, make sure your surface is perfectly clean before you apply any pressure. It depends on whether you are talking about applying a pure wax, for which you shouldn't need much pressure, or a cleaner wax, which should probably be applied firmly to do it's job of polishing/cleaning.

As long as the paint is clean, the applicator is clean and nonabrasive, and the wax is also nonabrasive (the first two oughta be true no matter what), it shouldn't much matter. You don't want to *really* press on it, but if you think of it as gently rubbing the LSP into the pores of the paint you should be OK.

And note that with an imperfect surface, you really do want to get the LSP into the pores/micro-fissures of the paint.
